After 18 months, my 2023 Hybrid Maverick has 30,000 miles. I’m up to date on all filters and oil. (I last changed the oil at ~27,000.) Is a dealer checkup required to satisfy my warranty?

Note: I have an extended warranty (8 yrs / 150,000 miles) from Granger Ford, so I’m not worried about approaching 36,000 miles.

Ford Maverick Thoughts on 30,000 mile checkup? MAV 30,000 checku

Additional note: My Mav is at the body shop, where the tailgate and bumper are being replaced due to being rear-ended (3,000 bill to the other driver's insurance company), and I should have it back by tomorrow morning.

They left out removing money from customer's wallet. How much are they charging for this? I'm sure they will assign the work to their most competent technician.
Not doing it.

Since it's easy enough to do, you might want to at least check the condition of the engine air filter. Odds are it will look better than the passenger compartment air filter after only 12 months.

All the items on that check list are stuff you can do yourself, Even testing the coolant strength with a inexpensive tester from a big chain auto parts store. The list is basically a reminder to give the vehicle a thorough once over to catch any potential issues. I tend to inspect Most of that stuff each time I change my oil since the truck is up on the ramps anyway. You can always enter "performed xxx mile service/inspection" on the vehicle service record in the Ford APP or on the old fashioned webpage.

Of course if certain dealers perform the inspection they will invariably tell you that new brakes, hoses, serpentine belt, transmission flush and more are needed

A viable alternative to doing it yourself is having a local mechanic you trust check everything. And no, I don't mean the local quick lube joint 🤣

Thanks. I'm staying on top of it, and I've taken care of maintenance of any other new vehicles I've had. I wasn't sure if Ford was making dealer service a requirement. This is my first Ford since the 80s, when I kept an Econoline for more than 10 years.

Save your money.you can do all that yourself.and i wouldn't waste money on a rotation if the wear looks the same on all 4 tires.just my opinion...

Wow, that was a negative sediment. I wonder if your employer thinks: Ian showed up for work today, so we'll have to pay him, that's more money off the bottom line. Cheerful people are humankinds front line of defense when AI tries to convince everyone to commit harry karry and take over. You should consider enlisting.

Regarding tire rotation -- Three seperate visits to the dealer for recalls, and each time the tech volunteered the following: "I checked your tread depth, and the wear is consistent on all tires, so don't worry about rotating them."

There is no requirement to have ANY service done at the dealer to 'protect' a warranty.

Just get a mechanic you trust to do those things. Keep the receipt and upload a copy to your account at ford.com

You do not have to get maintenance done at a ford stealership.

I suppose it comes down to the service team. I've had good experience with my dealer. When my Maverick was in for three separate recalls, the tech told me (without my asking) that my tread depth was good all the way around and to not worry about tire rotation.

That's what I figured, but it's good to have some feedback.
