Too long of a drive and I have other commitments today. They never returned my call. I wasn't expecting it for at least another month, anyway. I'll find out Monday or Tuesday.

I think I'd go to the dealer and confirm in person, that the Maverick is there. Or isn't. Don't trust the tracking system too much.
I'd go to the dealer just so some other Sales person doesn't sell it out from under you.

We have a contract. I called and left a message. They didn't call me back. I don't believe it has been built yet.

We have a contract.
Uhh......as someone who has been around this forum since January of 2022, "we have a contract" has been said fairly frequently by people, usually in response to other folks telling them to get over to the dealership to ensure everyone is on the same page. They exclaim "All is well, I HAVE A CONTRACT".

Often followed a day or two later by "I can't believe it, the sold it out from under me! Said they got some wires crossed. Ford Corporate better make this right".

Spoiler Alert: Ford will tell you the dealer owns the truck (the dealerships buy the truck from Ford, you buy it from the dealership). A dealer can sell it to whoever they want. Ford wont get involved in any way with the dispute.

I hope your situatuon turns out better than the MANY prior situations I have seen that are just like what you are describing. But if you have any ability to get someone on the phone to clarify, do it now. Your salesperson is pretty low on the "info totem pole". There ARE multiple people at the dealership sitting in an office who can get to the bottom of this for you, while on the phone with you. Ask to talk to the General Sales Manager. Ask to talk to the Internet Sales Manager. Ask to talk to......any manager.

Ok....all that being said, here is my prediction. They have more than one order with the same order number. The other order got built and arrived and the "wires that got crossed" were that they confused your order with the other one. Yours has not been built and will be built next week, as Ford claimed it would.

Lots of speculation from people.

Facts:
1. Salesman texted me that truck had arrived. I texted back asking how that was possible. He called me and said my name showed up on a spreadsheet (not my order number) for the vehicles. He said he's off work until Tuesday but will look into it then. He knows I intend to get the vehicle.
2. I called the dealership in the afternoon. You cannot reach a person directly. I navigated the menus and got to the sales department, left a voicemail explaining the situation, and asked for someone to call me back. No one called me back.
3. The dealership told me on 8/16 that my truck was scheduled for production the week of 9/23. Ford sent me an email on 8/20 confirming that.
4. When I checked status through Ford today, it still showed production scheduled for the week of 9/23. It also showed that the last status update was on 8/29, but I don't know what that was, because it only shows the scheduling.

Because they notified me on 8/20 that they were scheduling production, I can't imagine it is possible they built the truck before then. Today is 9/20. Assuming they built the truck on 8/21 (even though it supposedly wouldn't be built before 9/23), based on everything I've seen about delivery times in this forum, I can't imagine that it would have been built and transported from Hermosillo to Orlando in just 4 weeks.

I also can't imagine that the dealership would bother to notify me that the truck has arrived and then sell it out from under me in less than a day.

But what do I know?

You wouldn’t be the first.
Truly, it has happened quite a few times before.
If it is sold from under you, keep in mind that you’ve been warned.
It’s almost 10am. I’d have been down there already.

I too got a call saying my truck was ready with similar time frames. Panicked because I was in the middle of a 3 week tour in Asia.

Contacted my salesman & after a day of concern was finally told oops, it wasn’t my order that came. Phew!

Original build & ship timing held up.

What difference does it make if the vin matches if it’s the same build as the one you want, if a dealer calls me and says its in I’m going there to buy it lol idc about a vin number if it’s what I wanted 😅

Imagine a situation where the tracker didn't get updated and your vehicle did get built ahead of schedule. It happened with my very first Bronco.
Yup! My domino's pizza order from last month is still shown as being prepared by Jose even though we ate the heck out of it the same night we bought it...

I finally got someone on the phone at the dealership. It was a mistake, as I figured.

Someone put my name down for a Tremor. Mine is still scheduled to be built next week.

Window sticker doesn't show up yet for VIN, either.
May have been someone’s else order that was cancelled but was still being built and matched our order. So it was shipped out to fulfill your dealer order

No. It doesn't match my order, and mine is still scheduled for production next week. See my post immediately preceding yours.
