My 2010 Escape was totaled when son borrowed it for his job while his was in the shop. I had planned on it lasting another 10+ yrs.
Needed another vehicle. Did research - tried out various brands. I wanted a vehicle my 91 yr old Mom could get in/out of, back seat for the dog, able to haul stuff to the dump and the field, plus room for her walker. Wanted a hybrid but 24’s did not have towing.

7/2024 Settled on 2024 HPR Lariat 2.0L ecoboost with 4K tow and FX4 offroad that had just came on the lot that day. Plus it fits in the garage in spite of all the junk. Doesn’t get the best mileage yet, but don’t have that many miles on it since it just goes to town couple times a week. Dressed my Mav up since I plan on it being the last vehicle I will buy.

Mobett door side storage tray, trash can with cup holders, center console armrest cover, dashboard storage containers, rear door storage boxes, center console cup holder tray, center console organizer tray. (Holds a lot of stuff and keeps car un-cluttered.)
Cup coasters X8
Car seat headrest hooks X2 - handy for grocery bags.
Carhart front/back car seat covers, dashboard cover. Paying for the name but look so cool.
Drop Stop - saved French fries from landing on the floor..
8” dashboard glass screen protector.
Husky liner floor mats front/back tray style - saved from getting the car muddy & collects the sand.
Truck bed & tailgate - rubber mats
Tri-fold hard tonneau bed cover.
Hyper hitch 12” step & receiver pin. Did have to move the license plate over to the right so I would not get stopped by the cops. Already have the trailer as I go to the dump, etc 2-3 X’s/yr.
EGR in-channel window visors & bug deflector
Tinted side windows along with visor on front window.
Put a Broadfeet nudge bar on today - well the shop did.
Just need to put the rear bumper cover plate on & install the dash-cam since the kid did not want it.

Do I need all of that - probably not. But I like it.
Salvaged what I could out of the Escape and threw it in the pick-up including the dog seatcover. It’s loose so probably end up with scratches on the door. But just like the dust in the pictures - Live on a gravel road and things are meant to be used.
And even better - It’s Paid Off.
That’s my Molly getting her 1st ride in the pick-up. She’s my rescue pup and rules my life.
And yeah - the kid (doesn’t matter how old they are) - does not get to drive my toy.

welcome, and congrats on your maverick. the ground clearance of your nudge bar concerns me greatly. do you have better pics or measurement of how far it's above level ground?

I have not seen any trucks with that bar before, but to be fair, I also haven't searched for it. If it's as low as it appears, I would be very concerned about running it into a curb, parking bump, or even steep driveway. From there it's likely to bend upwards into the bumper cover and grille, and do some pretty significant damage.

Thank you Colinl - you gave me something to think about. So I got my tape measure out.

My Mom’s 2000 Alero - 5” ground clearance.
Ground clearance Maverick Lariat - 6.5” per Google.
Low riders can be 3”. Friend had one - it was 4”

Measured undercarriage of my Mav - 5”
Nudge Bar with skid plate - support to ground - 6”

No trouble driving usual routes in town.
No trouble with speed bumps so far.
No trouble with curbs so far.
No trouble going out to field (mowed paths so I don’t have to deal with brom grass seeds). Do not plan on off-roading even though live next to a river. Not my thing.
If it’s too much snow - won’t be able to get out of the driveway anyway.
If I hit a deer - front end or side will be major damage anyway. So far over the yrs count is 10 deer and lots of body work on various vehicles. Really believe in compressive insurance.
FYI - Deer Warning Whistles do not work.
Nudge bar may lower fuel mileage due to weight a smidgen.

https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/anyone-install-broadfeet-bull-bar.51692/
Here are some other Mav owners who installed the same one which gave me the idea to install the bar too.
This one does not interfere with front sensors so no other mods had to be done. Just a little trim on the undercarriage skid plate.

Hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Ford Maverick and your rescue Molly. Molly looks like she is enjoying the truck as well.

Sorry to read about your escape but glad your son is doing well. I think you might want to remeasure the Maverick's ground clearance. They claim the AWD has 8.6 inches. The push bar looks nice but I can't see myself lowering my ground clearance. I even opted for optional P235 to increase it another 1/4 inch. Different strokes for different folks. Best of luck with your new truck.

Thank you Hunter’s Edge. I corrected the info - then went out and measured.
Front bumper - 8.3” clearance
Front mud flap - 5” clearance.

Just like Don’s Maverick XL says in the other thread - it’s just for show.
Since I’m no longer a youngster with my 1976 Firebird to drive around in - this is my old(er) retired lady’s semi-practical toy.
The nudge bar can always come off if it causes problems.

Bad accident, i am glad your son is ok. The seat covers look good. I installed the nudge bar on mine and like how it looks.

Oooooh. The black really looks good on your black Mav. You must get lots of compliments.
I like your chase rack. It’s probably not compatible with my ford tonneau cover. Oh well, spent enough money this year.

It's worth dressing it up if you're going to enjoy it for a long time. Looks nice. What's that cow catcher on the front for? Will it hold a plow?

The cow catcher/nudge bar is just for looks. And it acts like a stopper in the garage against the totes that are lined up so the garage door will close with couple inches to spare since got the hitch step on too.
Certainly, the cows (not mine) out in the pasture don’t pay any attention to it.
As far as a snow plow - that’s what neighbors are for.

Truck looks great!

My first pup as a kid was named Molly. And now I have a rescue dog that rules my life, too.

Hope you have lots of adventures!

in your pic it appears to be about the same height as the front aero / splash guards. the key difference and reason for my concern, though, is the approach angle difference. when something is 4" off the ground right in front of the tire, it takes a steep rise or drop in pavement - a driveway or ditch - for you to scrape the ground.

but your nudge bar is that low roughly 2 feet in front of the tire. it's going to scrape on a much less severe grade.

In 1993 as a 18 year old I had a 1988 Camaro z28 with the aero kit on it. the lip spoiler was ridiculously low and I scraped it on many ordinary driveways. my fingers are crossed for you!
