2024 model year? 2025 model year? For a 2025, late December or early January is when we expect to see the first ones arriving on the lot. They aren't even starting production until November 11th. For what seems like all time and eternity, Ford estimates 4 weeks from the factory to the dealer. So mid to late December is conservative for an estimate and assumes yours is built in the first week or two.

November 11 job 1 means some lucky people in Arizona or California could get one by Thanksgiving. most trucks built that week won't reach dealerships for 3+ weeks, agreed.

You are forgetting they plan to hold them for the first 6 weeks for quality checks. That puts it easily into January.

I still am not sure what that is going to accomplish? Are they just going check them all and make sure everything is tight... Not like they are going to be driving them around for 6 weeks to check for issues.

The reason is that they may find something "recall worthy" after producing a few thousand. Maybe from observing a problem on the production line (think about the gas tanks being drilled into issue we had), finding out from a supplier that a specific batch of parts was faulty, some specific version of some software had a big bug pop up out of nowhere, etc... Maybe it comes up from when they put some miles on some of them, road testing. Many people have found a little card in their truck that says something like "this vehicle was selected for additional road testing and we put xxxx number of miles on it." Usually around 20 miles from the examples I have seen.

It is more affordable to have a parking lot full of new trucks sitting less than a mile from the factory versus having them tossed into the wind spread across the United States (and Canada), asking owners to bring it in to a dealership for repair/correction. Or having them sit on a dealer lot with a "stop sale" order on them where they can't be sold to the customer before the recall is performed. The hope is they sit there for 6 weeks (or whatever time frame they decide) and then Ford can say "Awesome, we did not need to fix anything, but better safe than sorry. RELEASE THE MAVERICKS!!!!" Then there will be a flood of long trains flowing into the United states and some VERY busy railroad workers and auto transporters at the major hubs.

Well, no, not obvious, since they are still scheduling the last of the 2024 model year. You could be asking about the estimated delivery time for a 2024 or a 2025 at this point in the calendar.

For where we are getting these dates.....

That table/chart comes from an internal Ford document.

The very first ones should arrive in December, but don't expect many until next year.
