Some jeep folks use a electric heat gun or hair dryer to renew their plastics. Caution and practice should be used in the process. Youtube should have a hundred videos or so on it.

Plastic and fuel are the same thing, they are just produced at different temperatures while heating crude oil. I would generally expect them to always react a lil.
Helpful thank you

I suspect that this is not "staining" but rather the gas removing whatever was on the surface of the fender flair. Treat the entire piece with something and I bet all will be good. I've not tried them all, but am really liking this for exterior and interior plastics.

LOL, I kind of get what you are saying, but I can assure you that gasoline and plastic are not the same stuff! Yes, some of the plastic may consist of petrochemicals, but there is a hell of a lot more to it than that. And Chinese plastic could be made from almost anything. None of it is made to last in any kind of adverse conditions, such as weather, sunlight, or being exposed t chemicals.

But it is made from the same thing. Mostly anyways. When they cook the oil they break it up into different chemicals and compounds. They are used to make different products, like gas, diesel, lubricants, and plastics.

https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq....and other, building blocks for making plastics.

Not just oil:

"Plastic is a synthetic material made from polymers, which are long chains of molecules derived from raw materials like natural gas, oil, or plants. These raw materials are refined into ethane and propane, which are then heated in a process called "cracking" to create ethylene and propylene. These materials are then combined to create different polymers.

Other possible raw materials for plastics include:

coal, cellulose, salt, starch, sugars, lactic acid, organic waste, vegetable oils, and micro-organisms."

Also, a lot of recycled plastic is sometimes added to the mix.

I used armorall spray. It made the fender flares look better but the stain was still there.

What are you expecting? It's cheap plastic man. You spilled one of the most volatile fluids our vehicles have on cheap plastic. It's in there.

Restoration for plastics: a light bristle brush and warm water/dish soap to agitate it into the pores, hot warm water to wash it out, then applying that actually restores plastics instead of armor all (which is 90% a trash product and if you are referring to standard armor all, probably going to make things worse in the long run). That's about as good as it's going to get outside of repainting or replacing. Whatever protective coating was on there was quickly evaporated when mixed with gas.

Mabbett shouldn't be responsible for what you spill on something, "cheap" products or not.

Wanna test it? Spill some gas on your bumper or interior.

We know their products leak, retain water, are poorly formed and created etc etc... And their responses are laughable when/if they do. For example: the turn signal condensation issues.

I'll ask again: What are you expecting them to do? Warranty everytime someone spills something on their product? Share the molecular structure of plastics they used so you can protect it better next time?

You are just screaming at the sky. You spilled the fuel. Not Mabbett. If you expected much real world protection from these flares or longevity from their products, I have some ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. They mass produce cheap plastic accessories and they probably have 100 sister company names ready to swap to once people stop buying Mabett products.

This is a $150 product. Not the end of the world. I would like a response from mabett.

Well, good luck.

What you want is a different product and just because you paid $150, doesn't mean that's what it's worth.
