I'm sure you could run the Cobb baseline 93 oct map with sport tcm and then consider a custom tune if you have more parts and want to get the most out of them.

e85 is a thing in the US because of massive subsidy to the corn farmers and ethanol refineries. probably no other nation stupid to burn perfectly good food 😃
I've heard e85 is available in parts of Germany and France too but I'm not motivated enough to actually go out and find it or even buy a few drums if I did....

The custom tune definitely sounds like the way to go. Would love to see a comparison between Panda, 5star and Livernois, they seem to be really close. Maybe it just comes down to who offers the best remote support...

E85 won't be cheap if you do find it because it's not subsidized at all or at least not to the extent that it is in the USA.

Regarding tuning devices, picking a vendor etc I would suggest that you open a thread about that, or find an existing one to review and add a new reply. This thread is about Panda's stage 2 parts and tune, and it's bad form to start talking about other vendors in the middle of it.

Couple things probably going on with that. A lot of areas (like pretty much everywhere I've lived in Texas) switch to E10 gas for the winter. It is up to 10% ethanol and will negatively impact mileage.

On a more positive note, cooler air is denser and has more O2 in it. Turbo engines get a double boost in winter because they get more O2 and they have even cooler air blowing across that intercooler - so there is a nice compounding effect of cooler intake air AND better cooling of it. All that makes more power. More power uses more fuel.

E10 is common all over the country and what you should be running in any new vehicle. We are passed the days of Ethanol free gas being better for your engine and power.

  • Higher oxygen content
Denser air has more oxygen, which allows for more complete fuel combustion. This can lead to better engine performance, more power, and a safer air fuel ratio.
  • Cooler temperatures
Colder air is denser, and cooler temperatures can help turbos perform better. For example, larger charge-air coolers can reduce the temperature of pressurized air from the turbocharger, which can increase air density.
Double the boost is miss leading and not true but yes it does help make it more efficient and capable of making more power. An intercooler has more than 1 job. Not only does the cooler temps for a longer time help produce better power and constant results but it must also flow and not be oversized to provide the best results.

Looks like some great results and I'm on the fence on which tune to go with! I have a few questions that I'm hoping you can help me with...

My truck is on the way, still several weeks from being delivered to me here in Stuttgart. I've already purchased several performance upgrades since I've been waiting around since May.
Based on the following parts I have coming, what stage would you say this is, (2+)?
S&B Intake
Velossa big mouth Ram Air
Fast Mav Catted Down Pipe
Thermal R&D Cat back exhaust

Also, we're not able to get e85 anywhere close to me, below are the fuels that are local and easy to get...
Fuel1.jpg
Fuel2.jpg

Along with the Aral 102, we have Shell 100 available. Both of these options are quite a bit more expensive though so I regularly purchase the 93 or 90 while on base as it's sold in dollars rather than in euros off base...(and cheaper per liter in dollars than it would be in euro off base)
Fuel3.jpg

So based on that, what would you recommend if I went with your services?

Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!!
All of our tuning is CUSTOM! We are only using the stages on our Maverick to help explain the differences in mods between our graphs. We ALWAYS recommend running the fuel that is most convenient for you. If the SuperPlus is readily available and easy to get, thats what I would go with. You may get slightly higher numbers running the 102, but from the sounds of it the juice may not be worth the squeeze. If you're constantly worried about having to fill up at the 1 particular station, that could ultimately detract from your overall enjoyment of the vehicle. All that being said, I would expect numbers similar or slightly higher than what we have on the 9 graph as there may be other differences in overall fuel quality.

Also, we offer a military discount as a way of saying Thank You for your service! 🇺🇸

Well, you took "double boost" entirely too literally. Nothing else I said should've been misleading, as you essentially repeated a lot of it anyway. I'll edit my post so no other number-crunching engineers take offense. ;)

How much for everything? I wanted a new intercooler. I can really feel the difference in the 90°plus high humidity days. Feels sluggish hoping an intercooler will Help. I only run 93 octane and seeing the numbers has me salivating. I already built a 3.5" exhaust and Cai. Hoping to unleash some hp from the baby ecoboost.

355 lb-ft at the wheels? That would be fun to run around with in a Maverick.

When do we question the factory transmission's long term reliability?

That is a good question that we have not found the limit too. Looking at others with upgraded turbos they are making even more TQ and not seeing people talk about failures. We are thinking the limit is around 380WHP that we feel comfortable going to at this time when we keep increasing mods on our in house Maverick!

@Mitch Panda Motorworks

Does the custom tune adjust transmission behavior or is entirely focused on the engine? I know some tuners address the transmission and some don't. Can you clarify?

Also, I've heard claims that the S&B intake produces more HP than the AFE. Have you done any dyno runs to compare the two? If so, is there an appreciable difference?

The Cobb Accessport allows for transmission adjustments that you can pair with our Custom ECU tune!

We have not had the chance to test these head-to-head but I can't imagine there would be too much of a difference once paired with a custom tune.
