Mine is still on the way.
How much effort was it to open the trim behind the mirror? Do you have any suggestions now that you've just done it sucessfully?
How did you splice into the wires? What type of splice materials did you use?
Did you take any pictures of the wiring?
It's super easy to pop that trim cover off below the headliner and behind the mirror, just use a plastic pry tool that's all I did there's four plastic clips holding it to the glass.

I use the medium sized drill bit and rounded out a 3/8 half circle for the wire to run behind the plastic up into the headliner.

No problems making the half circle, didn't scratch or mar the plastic trim cover at all looks OEM in my opinion.

Watch the man's video in the first post he shows you how to wire I even used the same style splice solder shrink wrap connectors as he did as I already had a bunch from my install of Govee outdoor pro lights. That I installed outside under my eaves last year.

have a look at these YouTube presentations. I basically followed there lead with supplied connectors. I didn’t have any issues removing the panel with a trim tool. Pry Both corners (opposite the front window). Popped right down, then out.

Don’t forget to cut little slot to prevent pinching of the supplied wire when you mount it. Test system before putting covers back.

i did this in my garage in Texas at 110 degrees. I wanted it done so didn’t take pictures. The attached youtube links show everything you will need. I didn’t slide the wire wrap back far enough and had trouble getting the multi-pin connector re-engaged. Be patient with the electrical, not difficult, but challenging working with the small wire harness that you will tie the 3 wires into.

good luck

Thanks for the tip.
It is interesting that at the same site, they have two prices. Is this like Amazon with multiple sellers?
Shipping added $$10.97 to the price.

They have 2 different part numbers. Not sure the difference.

That appears to be a better solution than I employed. I bought a rearview mirror off of Amazon for $180 and five minutes to install, one set-screw involved. No wiring to fiddle with, but also no automatic dimmer. If I had known about the Kia mirror, I would have done that instead.

What additional features did you get with the mirror you purchased?

None, just the HomeLink, and the simplest of installation. I just wanted to avoid the visor clip. I had two, one for the garage doors, and another for the community gate. The new mirror with HomeLink replaced them both.

Is the Homelink battery powered since it sounds like you didn't have any wiring to do?

Looks Great! Just wondering, do you have ACC?, and no problems with the wiring? I have the complete set-up, just wondering if it will mess with the ACC camera if I install it? Thanks!
I installed it on my ’22 Lariat with ACC and no issues. Drove from South Carolina to Michigan and ACC worked great!
On the way up, big downpour driving into Cincinnati and ACC did its job. Had no foot on brake or gas pedal and Mav slowed, stopped and gained speed as needed. I bought the mirror a year ago and was afraid to install it because of having ACC, but so glad I finally did it!

@OLT the ACC sensor is in the grille. On my 2023 it is below the Ford emblem.
