Im glad you were able to have such an easy time with your tweeters. Me, not so much. They're 3/4 and fit right in, but the tweeter bucket in the dash wasn't deep enough for these tweeters, guess they're a bit taller. Anyway, the speaker covers would not go all the way down. So I ended up surface mounting them.

That install also looks great! Makes it look premium!

@24atlasmaverick, Crutchfield's fitment guide says the 6.5" component woofer in the C1-650 doesn't fit the doors of the Maverick. I'm assuming that's due to depth. How did you get them to fit?

I used their included metra ford adapters to fit 3-screw speaker locations. Fit without issue or modification. I called them and told them it fit, but they never updated their site.

I wish I would have known that before I ordered a low-profile set from them. Luckily I haven't installed them because I don't have my Mav yet, so hopefully they'll allow me to return them and order the JLs.

Thanks for the great info!

Crutchfield is usually really good about their customer service.

Indeed they are. I've buying from them for probably 35 years.

Usually, if they know what vehicle it's going on they include the adapters for free and the wiring pigtails. At least that's been my experience with them.

Yup! Although the metra adapter for tweeters/rear speakers inverted the notch on the bottom of the connector. I dremelled an opening to fit the factory connector and works just fine! Not a fault of crutchfield, I’d still rather do that than cut the factory pigtail off

great to know and nice job with the installation.

regarding amps and sub, I would not use the stock B&O 6x9 because it will be a pain to power it and it has very low output - pretty much any decent 8" powered sub would be better, such as a Kicker HS8. The HS10 fits and it's pretty good for what it is. (Don't expect it to be like a 10" in a box under the bench.)

there are many threads covering upgrading non-sync3 trucks, but I would use a T-harness and Kicker Key 200.4 at a minimum. I would use bi-amp mode and leave the stock rear speakers, just fade them low or totally out. you'll need to run new wires from the amp to the dash tweeters.

if you have more budget there are a variety of other good amps with dsp, but the Key 200.4 is the king of value. I put one in my son's SUV last year.

That's weird, my adapters for the rear speakers worked perfect, but they said there was no adapter for the tweeters.
