So I guess this is as good a place to ask this question as any.

Ordered '24 XL FWD EB on 3/29 on Z Plan. My current estimated delivery date is between 8/2 and 8/15, and I'm guessing it will be ready to be picked up a few days following delivery.

That being the case, what would be the best approach in attempting to negotiate price as my MY24 is now "last year's model?"
Usually your negotiation ends once you get on a pricing plan as you are already getting a better price then they would have offered you otherwise. Plus, most dealers won't bother discounting "last year's model" until the end of the year.

Thanks Bob.

Never bought a car from a dealership so I've never had to wheel and deal. Already got the dealer to agree to drop the ford protection plus plan. Probably going to try to make the point that the "full size spare" isn't the same dimensions as the other four tires and either get the tire swapped for a 225/65 or have them swap it out for a donut and I'll find a full size spare on my time.

Have their been any rumors as far as incentive financing that might help me out with the retail windows opening or is that also usually held off til Late Q4?

Unlikely. If not advertised on Ford, then no. Ford only offers incentives on vehicles that aren't moving (Lightning, etc.). As long as Maverick is selling like hotcakes, Ford has no reason to offer them.

That said, Maverick is still a lot cheaper than vehicles that have incentives currently.

I know. I just have this itch to try to beat a salesman at his own game. I know it's not going to happen but there's an obsessive urge to try. Haha.

You are getting Z plan. They aren't playing any games with you. Just pay the pre-negotiated price and be happy.

My bad I wasn't clear.

When I was discussing getting this truck with my dad he made a comment about how I wasn't going to do any better than what was on the paper they put in front of me. While it's an entirely childish aspect of my personality, I generally take such statements as a personal challenge if only for my own personal amusement.

I wasn't saying I felt that the salesman was jerking me around. I just want to out negotiate the negotiator. Whether it's finding an optional gap insurance I don't necessarily need or possibly knowing the product better than what's on the inventory spread sheet.

It's not necessarily out of arrogance or one upmanship as much as it is life's too short to not have these little challenges to keep things interesting. Elsewise it's just "live, work, die."

So, long story short, I'm not trying to maliciously tear an innocent salesman a new one. I'm just trying to find a way to keep life more interesting than wake up, clock in, clock out, and go to bed.

While I'd love AWD, replacing my 23 with an equivalent 25 that includes AWD is easily an $8k swing from what I paid for my 23 Lariat Hybrid with all the bells & whistles (minus sunroof).

Honestly the AWD is really only handy half a dozen times a year at best, and will continue to enjoy my 23 and the awesome mileage. Not a huge fan of the new front end either.

What is the lobo model? Is it the low rider idea that has been being discussed?

Hello, this is my first post here. I ordered a '24 EcoBoost XLT with AWD and 4K towing on 2/29. Five months later, I still don't have a production date scheduled. The day I ordered the truck, I was told Ford had exceeded allocation for April for the hard trifold tonneau I ordered. Silly me assumed that they could just build it in April. I have been lurking here since March, and didn't intend to open an account until I got a production date. But now I have a question.
Since at least the end of May these two items have shown up as exhausted availability:
- 64T - 17” Carbonized Gray painted Aluminum Wheel (Standard on XLT).
- T7R - 225/65R17 A/S BSW Tires on XL/XLT Only (Standard).

I see that those wheels are discontinued for 2025. Those are the standard wheels for the XLT. The only way to change wheels and tires is to add thousands of dollars in option packages. Is there any way to know if "exhausted availability" means exhausted through the end of the model year? I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to be forced to have to order a 2025 model.

Judging by the SIMS orders they're pushing the optional machined face 17" wheels which are $795 and come with the A/T tires if you want to sneak in as a 24MY. Or the FX4 package for $800. Either way hardly "thousands of dollars in option packages".

But is there any way to know if "exhausted availability" means for the rest of the model year?
