Buy the right size socket and a nice long breaker bar. Of course never-seize goes a long way as well.
Torque specs on wheel nuts are dry, not lubed.
Never needed anti seize on any wheel stub or bolt. Better advice skip the anti-seize and don't over torque it.

Using anti-seize counts as a lubricant when torquing. Rule of thumb - reducing torque 25% for "wet" threads gives you the same clamping force (wheel to hub) without stretching or otherwise damaging stud. My ASE mechanic always uses it with adjusted torque on lug nuts.

The only lug nuts I ever had an issue with was back when I worked at a shop restoring old Mustangs.
Anti-Seize just isn't needed.
The only case I can see for it is when using open nuts and no cover.

I picked up a nail and had no trouble changing a flat in a parking lot using nothing but the jack and wrench that came with the truck.

Don't use anti seize if you are actually trying to get your lug nuts properly torqued. Watch this video on YouTube so in the description you can skip to myth 9.

Long story short, if you put anti seize on your studs you might be putting double the torque you intended before your torque wrench will click. I don't trust my studs and lug nuts to not strip out with that much force.

Also, I highly recommend an extended lug wrench like someone else mentioned on page 1 of this post. My girlfriend struggles to break the lug nuts loose on my truck and her car with the stock wrenches, but with this new wrench she can do it one handed when it's fully extended. I'll post the one I personally bought, it's a few $ more expensive than some of the others but it has a locking collar to keep the wrench locked during extension which I think is definitely worth it.

Same here, in fact I was impressed with how long the lug wrench handle was for breaking loose the nuts. After that tire change (90 degrees) I raided my tool box and grabbed a 1/2 inch ratchet and socket to speed things along. Especially for jacking up the truck with the scissor jack.

Had a Honda Element and the breaker bar was about 6 inches long. I about had a hernia trying to get those lugs off with that short of a breaker bar. I threw a piece of pipe in to add some leverage for the next time.

A technique I taught my wife and daughter was to put the wrench on the lug so that it was level to the ground or lower. Make sure it's completely seated on the lug and then you can stand on the wrench to break it free.

STANDARD LUG WRENCH IS TOO SMALL
A couple weeks ago I bought my used (2,000 miles, like new) 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid. With the black appearance package, with 18" unique wheels. I checked out the supplied jack and lug wrench that was behind the back seat. THIS LUG WRENCH IS TOO SMALL and little use to change a flat. Anyone else have this problem? Why didn't Ford provide the correct size lug wrench? Is there an adapter or should I just buy the correct size wrench?
The lugs on the mavericks are torqued to 148 ft lbs. Good enough reason to go for this now at 35% off

1) then why don’t you edit the subject line and content of your original post rather than falsely accusing Ford of a problem that doesn't exist for everyone to view in the future?

And

B) why would you want or need or want to discuss this with the Ford dealer’s parts team? Go purchase an appropriate wrench for your aftermarket lug nuts.....

.
Calm down, it's not that serious. Most of us read through it and arrived at a point where OP got the advice they needed and this was resolved before you showed up. You've been here long enough to see lots of posts like this. Many people don't understand the way things work and are just looking to vent knee jerk reactions.

They literally did not know. This is all new to them. I will say at least they posted in the correct section. They were able to seek that out just fine :ROFLMAO:

Thanks guys for the good information. I've not figured out how to edit my original post nor delete.
