STANDARD LUG WRENCH IS TOO SMALL
A couple weeks ago I bought my used (2,000 miles, like new) 2024 Maverick Lariat Hybrid. With the black appearance package, with 18" unique wheels. I checked out the supplied jack and lug wrench that was behind the back seat. THIS LUG WRENCH IS TOO SMALL and little use to change a flat. Anyone else have this problem? Why didn't Ford provide the correct size lug wrench? Is there an adapter or should I just buy the correct size wrench?

Buy the right size socket and a nice long breaker bar. Of course never-seize goes a long way as well.

Since you bought used, what makes you think those are the original lugnuts? My 2024 Lariat w/BAP came with chrome lugnuts.

Thank you, I would not have thought that Black Appearance Package (BAP) would have any chrome. An online description says - 18" ebony aluminum wheels. I guess the previous owner could have replaced the standard chrome nuts. I will ask my local dealer parts guy.

Look at the bright side---those nice black lug nuts probably cost more than a lug nut wrench will cost. Good lookin' Mav-great color!

If the hex on those black lugnuts is 22mm, they might be McGard's, and definitely worth keeping.

This was slightly used. I'm guessing now that previous owner may have upgraded to larger size that were better looking than standard chrome.
I've got to talk to the dealer parts guy.

get something like this toss it behind the rear seat be set for any lugs you need to Remove yours others trailers.

1) then why don’t you edit the subject line and content of your original post rather than falsely accusing Ford of a problem that doesn't exist for everyone to view in the future?

And

B) why would you want or need or want to discuss this with the Ford dealer’s parts team? Go purchase an appropriate wrench for your aftermarket lug nuts.....

If it does turn out that you have 22mm / 7/8" lug nuts, this may be an option:

Not sure how much shipping would be or if you can find something local for the same price, or if there are other brands. Just found this. But this would let you keep your factory lug wrench and just carry this with you when/if needed.

Ford's lug nuts have a chrome cap over them that create problems down the road as far as removal.the previous owner might have addressed that already and changed them.
