I have a 23 Lariat. I use the wireless charger. Or use the buttons on the steering wheel to select the preset stations.

You can "exit" Android Auto/Apple car play....and then choose FM/AM from the audio options.

Or, use the USB port from the back of the console....that is charge only.

This is for XL or XLT with Android, but I am sure Apple Car Play is similar. Touch the "9 Dots" lower left hand corner of screen, touch "Exit", touch "Audio", select "AM or FM"

I don’t think you can charge your phone using usb and change stations at the same time. I agree it’s annoying.

Try pushing the speaker looking button and then the audio tab. under audio, you can select the sources.

Let me know if that works for you. I have an occasional issue where I normally play music from my usb and the truck switches to over the air radio stations on start up. Android auto starts automatically and I have to get out of AA to change my audio source using this process. Then I just select the MAPS tab to return to navigation.

That did it. Thanks. For the person who suggested wireless charging, I understand but USB charging is supposed to be faster.

You can absolutely charge your phone and change radio stations. See the various responses above.

If you are using Apple Carplay, one of the "Apps" is Ford.
Press it and it return you to the regular screen.
Then you can press Audio (See post #7) and change to what evver you want (AM/FM Radio stations, Sirius etc.)
Press Carplay to go back to Apple screens and Apps.

(Note: Learned this from my Millenial Daughter)

On Lariat, on the touch screen, press the view mode button until it brings up a screen full of icons. Then select the Ford app.

I use a USB-C data blocker cord.
Plugs into your existing phone charging cord.

Has another primary purpose (to block data, called juice jacking), but in this use, just charges the phone and blocks any data connection to the truck.

You can then navigate the radio or any other truck screen options, as your phone does not appear data connected.

I noticed the phone charges faster and stays cooler since data is blocked, but phone still charges.

Love it.

Or you could just plug it in the back seat USB connector?

Neither charge fast enough for me, on some days. I use my phone for work and it burns through battery fast, with sometimes no more than 30 minutes between jobs. I bought this, and dropped in there. Plugs into 110 outlet behind center console.
