OK everyone, I am sorry! I called South Dade Kia in Miami and they told me the A7062-ADUP1 Mirror is discontinued. so I went to https://www.kiacheapparts.com/oem-parts/kia-auto-dimming-mirror-with-homelink-and-compass-a9062adup0 and found it for $44.69 with !17.98 shipping for a total of $62.67. I did call them on the phone and they told me it is available and to just order it online, which I did. All I have to say is Dang Maverick owners running Kia dealers out of parts and driving up price! Grin! They told me on the phone it was a 3 day lead time. Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up!

Well that explains why the PayPal didn't go through.

The cheapest place I found for the A9062-ADUP0 mirror was https://www.kia.parts/

Came to $45 which included shipping.

I agree that there are two ways to connect the mirror. My point that I was trying to make is that it's just a better option and just as easy to wire to the map lights. The camera is a sensitive and expensive safety device and owner's really shouldn't be tapping into it to power other devices when there is such an easy usable power source literally 8 inches away. BTW in a just retired Toyota Pro tech.
Don't see why it's a "better" option. You're not doing anything to the camera, just using 12v power and ground from the wire harness. In fact, from what I recall there had been some issues with pulling from the map light harness because they dim and stay active without accessory/ignition on - maybe a PWM signal vs. a true 12v, where the harness at the camera is a true 12v. Seems the harness at the camera is better to me, and why I wired my mirror and dash cam that way. No problems.

If your mirror has a failure and blows the fuse then the camera will stop functioning. The camera is used for lane keep assist and automatic braking. If you have a problem with the camera warranty will not cover it if some other accessories is attached to the same circuit. The map light connector is just as easy to power your mirror so why not use it. Always take the path of least resistance.

What if your mirror has a failure and causes a body control module malfunction and then causes the camera to stop working? What-if's are fun to talk about. Fact is, these mirrors are OEM installed in millions of vehicles of all different makes and models over many-many years. The chances of one failing and taking something out are miniscule. It's probably less than the chances of the camera failing on its own. And either of those are probably infinitely small chance that it would happen at the same time as you need automatic braking and lane assist to be engaged, which somehow we survived for years without.

Two options are equally easy to use and work. Trying to say one is not safe or will void your warranty is nonsense.

Look up the wiring diagram for the camera and you will find it on a dedicated circuit. There is a reason that modules have there own power and ground sources and don't have accessories on the same circuits. When there is a perfectly safe connection at the map lights why wouldn't you use it instead of choosing a safety related item such as the camera?

But whatever man, you do you. If been a tech for a very long time and have seen alot of stupid sh!t. I'm done with this thread.

Well, the sad news is that I rec'd an email from So. Dade KIA earlier today, telling me they cancelled my order, as the part is no longer available. Bummer! They have processed my refund.
It was a good deal .... while it lasted. I'll wait awhile and order one, when all the hubbub dies down over these mirrors. The OEM one in it now works just fine. I'll keep searching for another '"smokin' deal". :)

Is the Kia mirror for $45 shipped and option for you? I looked everywhere and couldn't find the really cheap one. I think they are long gone now.

Yes that would be an option. For now, though, I think I'm gonna wait for the hubbub to die down a bit, and order one later. I'll keep searching. The OEM one is just fine, for now. Thanks!
