Just got my 24' XLT AWD EB on the 12th of this month, love it so far, just a few areas that need some work. But that's expected with how Ford got these made so cheap. So it's now my New Project Build
For the last week or so *work late nights
* I have been putting a high heat coating on my exhaust and some of the un-coated parts under the mav. This is mostly due to already seeing a fair bit of rust with the truck not even having 400 miles on it yet, so that's a bit concerning.
First of-course I took the exhaust off completely up to the down-pipe.
Once I had it off, which this exhaust is actually Super easy to take off, I proceeded to use a wired brush wheel on an angle grinder to clean off the surface rust etc, this took a few days just because of my work schedule so w/e lol.
After taking the rust off I then cleaned it off with alcohol, then proceeded to spray it down with Rust-Oleum High Heat paint.
lolz, yes I had to get creative on how to support the exhaust as I painted it XD.
After I let it sit for a few days in the sun I wiped it down again with a 3 in 1 ceramic/wax from Griots Garage, I've done this with my Honda Rebel 1100s muffler and its been great with now 6k miles on it lol.
Here's everything all set an done.....till I upgrade the exhaust...thinking about a Thermal R&D exhaust
.
Other area's under the truck that I also did with the same coating etc, similar process, sanded down, wiped with alcohol then painted.
Drive shafts etc.
Other area's I plan on also doing later.
This is the area that has the most rust, was like this right after I got it, and it hasn't even rained this month really :/.
Other mods I plan on doing soon.
S&B CAI.
Wheels + Tires.
Thermal R&D 3" exhaust, Thinking polished dual tips.
EGR Hood protector Matte black.
EGR Rain guards Matte black.
EGR Fender flairs.
Have Mil-Spec bed liner put in the bed + front and rear bumpers and rocker panels under the doors, *might even do a portion of the doors, not sure though*.
Speaker upgrades, already have a package from Crutchfield all setup.
Center hood vinyl.
Inside door protection, lower half.
Inside Door handle protective film.
And a ton of smaller mods XD.
