I take "calculated" risks and I upgraded my hybrid with aftermarket equipment to make sure towing more was safe and enjoyable. Fact remains, the engine and transmission are not weak links in the system.

Never understood why they never offered a Maverick hybrid with AWD... The basic mechanics of the Maverick are Escape, which is available as a Hybrid with AWD.. The perfect vehicle for me would be the Plugin Hybrid, AWD 4k towing.... Though I doubt I will ever see it. hahahaha

Doesn't help those that need to flat tow like myself.
Curious what you've done. From what I've read, they were worried about heat dissipation on the electric motor when going from 1500 lbs to 2000 lbs from Escape to Maverick drivetrain. But in posts I've read on towing, when people monitor their transmission temp, it remains relatively cool.
I would love to see a long term test of someone who bought a hybrid Mav and towed 3000+ with it constantly to see how long it would last.
Of course, you can probably do anything a few times, or even a dozen. Also keeping speed down, and keeping it on a level grade, and using trailer brakes, all helps. And replacing the transmission fluid much more often, as well as engine oil, will also help prolong its lifespan.
