There is an obvious gap in this plastic trim piece and the dealer basically told me they wouldn't address it since it was normal. Should i attempt to take next steps or is this truly normal and not covered under warranty? The other side also has a gap but at least the plastic clip isn't completely showing like this side

My little rubber piece is peeling.

While I'm inclined to agree with Shay - this is not a Honda - Honda ain't what it used to be either. My SIL had a 2019 Honda Insight that had a few fit and finish issues, but those paled in comparison to the Nissan Sentra he had that was purchased new in 2015. What a POS!

That piece should be able to be removed and reinstalled so it catches the mounting tab. All the black plastic on the bed is meant to be a "wear" item and replaceable vs paint damage.
Check the alignment towards the bottom to make sure if it sits below the top bed plastic also instead of flush/level.
If you have a tonnuea cover I would suggest removing it , reinstalling the trim as the pressure of the cover clamps would pull that trim down causing a bigger gap especially if the factory missed the tab in the first place.
The dealer should address this IMO sure fit and finish at a gap like that isn't perfect but when a mounting point was missed during assembly , well.....

My 2024 is exactly the same. Was like that before I installed my BAKFlip MX4 tonneau. Haven’t done anything about it yet, but will the next time at the dealership. Definitely not normal.

Dump that dealer and find a different one.

That is definitely not how those pieces are supposed to fit together.

The BS that some dealers spew out is unbelievable. That is NOT normal, nor correct. If there are no other Mav's on his lot, here is a pic of mine, after 18 months/30k miles....this is "normal" and "correct". What a bunch of jerk-offs.

If it’s normal why aren’t both sides the same?

I pushed mine down and it snapped in. I should send Ford a bill for that. 😏

I wish that worked. This gap is big enough that didn't work. Actually it almost seems like the piece is physically too short or something because there's no flex at all in terms of being able to compress a bit more or bring forward
