23 ford maverick, live in s. Florida, 2400 miles on truck. Had truck 6 mts.
Rubber on windshield wipers is soft, pliable, nor discolored, or any rubber deterioration.

Only drove in the rain once since having the truck. It rained about a week ago and thats when the vibration of wipers began.

When wipers are turned on without water on window there is no vibration (I did this for a quick test).

After running wipers with water on the windows the vibration of the wiper blade rubber begins to vibrating up and down and losing contact with window surface.

I called Ford auto nation, margate, fl. Told them my experience and asked for help. He said wipers in South Florida are only good for 6 mths. Where did that data come from?

Dealer said if you bring it in, then I would be charged for evaluation even though it could be something other then wiper material.

So, did someone reading this have this experience? What manufacturer and model of wiper specifically did you buy that solved issue I am having? Did wiper last more then 6 mths.? Thank you reading this.

I never had this issue with cars i have been driving. I am now 70 years old.

Good wipers will last a year under normal usage. In South Florida, the salty air might be drying out the rubber more quickly.

I personally clean the windshield before pulling out of the driveway each time. Could be that regular spray of cleaner is enough to keep the blades from dry rotting as quickly.

Wiper blades are considered "wear items" and part of vehicle maintenance. Ford use to cover them under base warranty for 6 months/unlimited mileage. But this was changed for 2023 vehicles and newer. No more coverage under 3/36 warranty.

I bought my Maverick in the same area as you, that dealership is very unprofessional. I initially contacted them and made an appointment to order my Maverick... they scheduled my appointment at 9:00AM on a Sunday... when they were closed. If they couldn't even remember their own business hours I didn't trust them to sell me a car.

I have had wipers on my cars for 3+ years with no issues. I would change them out myself and be done with it, if the vibrations don't go away then it's a bigger issue. Duralast makes pretty good wipers. Hope this helps.

My wipers rubber is soft, pliable and no discoloration. They run smooth against glass surface when dry and not wet. My other two family cars have had the same wipers for three years now and do not vibrate, nor do they chatter, so that rules out the South Florida weather idea has caused the issue.

But did you have the problems with your maverick as I am? how did you solve the issue?

Not exactly, I work at a Ford dealer so was giving you the coverage info.

I am in a different climate (Western NY). My original wiper blades lasted 1.5 years before they began streaking. We didn't have any of the replacements in stock, so I ended up buying some winter blades meant for ice and snow to help me in the winter. Haven't switched out of them yet!

Thanks for response. 3 years, for you thats great. So what would the difference be? My glass is perfectly clean. My other car has the same wipers for 3 years with no issue, living in the same exact location.

My wipers as stated in my opening: there is no rubber discoloration, no dryness, extremely pliable.
My other two cars which sits right beside it in S. Florida has same wipers for 3 years and never changed them. There is no vibration.

Thank you response. But did you have the same problem I described and how did you solve it if you did have same problem? My other two cars sitting right beside maverick has wipers lasting 3 years so far and their perfect. My maverick has perfect soft, pliable wipers.

If I go buy new blades and the same problem exists, then what direction would you take.

I don't believe anyone is expected to buy new blades every 6 months. How long has your factory blades lasted?

On my old truck, I had a set of PIAAs on for about 10 years with Rain-X wiper fluid.
Exactly. My 2 others cars have had same wipers for 3 years now and no problem at all.
So does your maverick have vibrating wipers with the original wipers?

Then I am stumped. Yours last for 3 years no issues. My two cars have had no issue for 3 years also

My rubbers are extremely pliable, soft, no rubber wear. My other 2 cars have had same wipers for 3 years sitting right beside the existing maverick in S. Florida. They are both work perfectly.
