OUCH! expensive fuel!

I paid $2.76/gallon for Regular 87 Octane gasoline yesterday.
Not sure what that would be in Liters.

Ya but I go 840 miles per tank sometimes and live where all the cool people live, so there's that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But in San Diego our fuel is delivered to mission valley in a pipeline from Long Beach paid for 45 years ago , delivered to tanks ( all brands) then loaded in trucks ( v power or techroline or nothing added to them and then trucked to desert cities ( el Centro) 100 miles from here and sold at $4.49 gallon where you buy gas at 76 station next to fuel depot in mission valley and it’s at $6.09/ gallon for 87 !
Welcome to kinder/ Morgan , fuel distributors, San Diego tax !
Pretty cool huh!
I can go to remote desert city pay 4.49 a gallon or drive 80 more miles in desert cross the river to Yuma, az. And pay $3.49 gallon in the middle of the desert!
About 50-60 cents being the extra taxes we get in California . But the transport location to price makes no sense except the fat cats at Exxon, mobile bp,kinder/ Morgan, and gas station owners all are pulling mass profits .
Time to go electric conversion- Tesla motor(Ldu) in the broncos with more solar on the house!

CA gas prices will soon be climbing even higher... Details HERE. The elected leaders seem to envision everyone living in high density housing and using public transportation, subsidized by rich folks.

@Ozarkbeard divide by 3.785 and you get ~$0.73/L which is well below the Canadian wholesale price - adjusting for the currency difference USD/CAD gets closer. Then the provincial, federal, sales and carbon taxes are added on top and then someone needs to make profit.

There was a planned federal carbon tax increase recently and the change from winter to summer fuels apparently increased the price due to temporary shortages. It's all a bit of craziness and variability in the pricing if you ask me. Prices certainly go up much faster than they come down.

It could always be worse I suppose.

I enjoy going to get diesel for my mower with my hybrid Maverick way more than I should.
Back onto the original topic, I totally agree. Before the Maverick, if I needed diesel or saw gas my options were to put it in the back of a station wagon or take the old truck and get 15 mpg. Being able to safely transport fuel without wasting a bunch of it on the way there is huge for me.
