So I did my first oil change at 1500 miles I know I know 🤷 It was fairly easy , like everyone says the filter was on way tight, even after loosening it a turn with a wrench it was not hand loose not sure why Ford would put on such a small oil filter to start with ? The oil was green as people have mentioned I have heard they don’t use break in oil anymore , so on my next oil change I will see if it’s green again . The next thing I noticed was that the spindle or hub housing was rusted it was the only thing upfront that was ? I will post pictures but overall I’m glad I did the oil change myself I spent $45 in oil and filter used ford I did use WD-40 on the hub or spindle in the picture

The green oil is the break-in oil.

Since you have a hybrid; unless you drove mostly highway miles, you probably put less than a thousand miles on that original oil.

I don’t think any manufacturer uses breaking oil anymore That’s a thing of the past, except with remanufactured motors at least that’s what I gather Could be wrong

It's not anything special, just lubrication from assembly. It's just called break in oil for that reason.

I would wipe all the WD40 off the rubber CV joint boot and all other rubber parts. You also don't want WD40 on your brake rotors.

I personally would not worry about "rust" on uncoated steel. It is going to happen over and over.
