Dealer pulling intake because of misfire codes

Truck showing PO304 and PO302 cylinder misfire. Took to the dealership and they wanted to know if the check engine light came on before or after I installed the Magnaflow exhaust. The truck has 16000 miles on it and I put the exhaust on right after I bought it. lol They are pulling the intake tomorrow? Anyone else having problems, I see misfires on the hybrid on here.

I haven't seen anyone else report a misfire with their ecoboost. their concern the muffler is odd, but they may have been fishing to see if you used a reflash tune or interceptor on the truck.

cylinders 2 and 4 are misfiring. I don't know if this engine has 2+4 on the same cycle, but if so that could be a clue to diagnose the misfire. I'd guess they're just asking about the exhaust to find out all the info they can to narrow down the possible causes.

Does the EB 2.0 have a 2 cylinder limp mode like the Hybrid 2.5?

I had one... check engine came on and off during the same night. I chaulked it up to poor gasoline quality here in northern canada ( i filled up shortly after) I rarely have an opportunity to buy 91 octane... ours is aged 89 sold as 87 lol.

Dealer said they couldnt replicate issue, but would fast track a diagnosis if it happened again. It didnt though.

Changing injector now

Not sure what the dealer is doing, still have the truck. They say they are waiting on bolts. I said whatever you took off had bolts. But the reply again was waiting on bolts.

Now dealer says the bolts are for the injector. Wouldn’t you think bolts would come with the new one. Maybe get the truck back on Monday

I am sorry to hear that but I'm not very surprised. unless you have bad fuel, which is exceedingly rare, a misfire on a newer engine is almost always something severe. (on an older engine, could be dirty injectors, sparkplug due for replacement, etc)

I'm sure they took pics. If they didn't share with you, ask them. in those pics will be evidence of whether the cylinder head was also damaged. if it's not damaged I bet you'll get a new shortblock.

how long did they estimate for a new engine?

I wouldn't be upset if if you already racked up miles. New engine can't be bad.

yeah. I had a similar failure in my '17 Mazda CX-9. I can't recall if it was a complete engine or shortblock, but they had it installed in like 3 days which was relatively impressive. 5 weeks to get it, though.
