Having spent most of my time on my new ‘24 hybrid XLT tricking out the interior, over the last several days I turned my attention to the truck bed and surrounding. What I have completed includes:
  • Installing a tailgate mounted step ladder
  • Mounting Molle panels to both truck bed side walls
  • Installing a four gang switch panel with 12V and USB power outlets to the cubby storage doorr
  • Adding a 30”x13”x10” aluminum truck bed storage box
  • Adding a ratcheting adjustable bed divider bar
  • Mounting my telescoping truck bed grab bar to a side wall
  • Switching out the OEM third brake light unit for a third party blacked out replacement
  • Adding a blacked out trim ring surround to the tailgate Ford emblem
  • Applying raised black tailgate letters
  • Adding a bed mat over the OEM DIBL
  • Adding a color coordinated carbon fiber stubby antenna
  • Installing Muslogy’s truck bed cargo net
  • Installing a tailgate support strut
  • Added a blacked out American flag hitch receiver insert cover

With those Molle panels, I'm assuming you don't haul leaves or grass in the bed. If so, I'm envious. I'd expect they'd catch the debris between the panel and bed side. And they would do it just to annoy me.

Looks great, and useful. Looks like a Truxedo X15 cover? How do you like it? How does it behave in the wind at highway speeds?

My days of hauling yard debris are over. I let the lawn cutting service deal with it. The tonneau cover is the X15. I was drawn to it because of the cloth cover rather than vinyl. I also appreciate the lifetime warranty. I have had the cover on three different Mavericks. I’ve experienced minimal leaks from a hard driven rain entering at the upper corners of the tailgate. I have never noticed any significant flutter at highway speeds. It’s tight. I recommend it.

Awesome.

Question: what bed mat did you choose?

I'm expecting delivery of the DI*BL (*modular) for DIY installation. Wondering how bed mat will fit between the liner walls.

The current bed mat is from Muslogy. I have had the opportunity to see different ones from several different sellers. I would go with Muslogy’s or Mabett’s. Difficult to tell a difference. Neither fits as well with the DIBL as compared to without or with the SIBL.

If I had a choice, I would go with a SIBL. The DIBL came with the luxury package. Taking it apart to drill out the access holes, some of them not clearly marked, is a pain in the a__. If I could do it over, I would take out the DIBL and sell it and get a SIBL after the fact.

Thanks for the reply. I would much prefer the SIBL myself, but it's not in the budget. Using Rewards Points that came with my purchase & Ford's recent EARN20 discount offer, the DIBL kit cost me $150. I'll be extremely careful about the drilling & jig-sawing & filing (gotta cut out for the cubbies...). At $150, it won't hurt too bad when I'm ready to pull it & get the SIBL. Thanks again! Happy trails.
