Those who don't think it is the same issue don't think it is. But from a safety standpoint, wouldn't it be prudent to take it in and have them do the recalls? Just looking out for you. It can't hurt, and it certainly is better than the risk not to. Just looking out for you.
Yes. Thanks. I will definitely do the new recall when it is available. Until then I do not want the dealer to experiment with my vehicle trying to chase down an issue that they are not equipped to correct.
Ford should come clean and admit that the previous software fix added to this problem or state that it did not. The truth will come out and they will look like trash if they had us chasing our tails.

No one solution that has been published that I am aware of. I did not get any published solutions in response to my short thread.
My limp mode cleared after I restarted a couple of times as seemed to be the case in several reports that I read.
Some have filed a report with NHSTA as well.

One of the other boards has a recent post regarding dealer service on loss of power which stated the dealer did the following= update pcm & sodbmc per aq5... not sure what that means but appears they updated or reupdated software

I drove it home, turned it off. Let it sit for a while started to back up. Only thing that came on was the check engine light and I seem to have normal power at my driveway and has been sitting for a couple hours.

Please google your problem. Ford is doing a massive recall regarding this issue. You should receive a notification from Ford by mid May.

I'm having Powertrain Malfunction and Reduced Power issues, but I have not found a solution. I'm not sure if there is a one fix solution, some threads show it was a battery connector issue, or just a bad battery, or a software fix, etc. I'm still trying to figure it out.

The dealership I bought it from wasn't really interested in helping me. The salesperson I bought from had to really push to get the service department to look at it. however the service manager who scanned it, blamed it on a low battery and said I just need to drive it more. I've taken to another dealership service center and the service manager was the same way, it's just a battery thing. However he also found the gear selector solenoid is throwing error codes, he thinks it bad and draining the battery when in its park when it should be in sleep mode. I'm scheduled to have it replaced this Monday.

However that does not explain the loss of power while driving or the other warnings I get. Its really difficult to record what's happening when troubles arise and you're just trying to remain calm and react safely without causing an accident.

Today I had another limp mode issue similar to the other people in this forum. It caught me off guard because the first one was no big deal, small loss of power but I was able to recover by restarting the vehicle. Not today, I had to restart a few times and each time was more nerve wracking. Second restart, it accelerated on its own, and I had to ride the brake to a stop. Third restart I let it sit awhile longer, and it stuck in slow mode, it wouldn't go above 20 mph? I shut it off and let it sit a little longer and restarted, I finally regained control. The engine light is still on.

Here's one pic from today I managed to take.

I got the same collision error and the acceleration on its own too. Definitely never racking.I did two restarts and seems to be back to normal. I’m going to goto the dealer this morning. Luckily it’s not far from my house

Can anyone who has had this problem state what was determined to have caused the problem and what fixed it?
FORD, do you know?

I have read through two recent threads and not clear if there is a known defect and a known solution.

ALSO--if there is not already a known cause and solution--then, FORD corporate needs to be directly engaged with ANY service center where a vehicle is being brought in for service that has experienced these issues. That way each of us can contribute to determining the actual cause and solution. And we will know that corporate has been involved in certifying any diagnosis and repair.

Summary: The defect is that while under normal driving conditions Hybrid Maverick loses power. Random loss at any speed and any driving conditions. Various error lights flash when normal drive train power fails. Vehicle may accelerate to low speeds autonomously after restarting. The condition clears and allows normal operation after waiting an indeterminate amount of time or after a certain number of restarts.

I apologize if I'm not replying correctly - but I've had the same problem twice. Once doing about 10 MPH and one doing 80. Both times I could just restart the truck and it would be OK but it's scary to be driving when you think it could happen again.
