Is there a way to 'lock' on Eco mode on a Maverick Hybrid without having to select it everytime you start up the truck? I'm a new buyer and I want to evaluate Eco mode.

PS I think you'll like ECO mode... you get used to a much more refined and tapered transmission experience (although some will says it makes the truck gutless and less responsive but that turbo kicks in as required 😉). That said I notice every time when I 'forget' to select eco. As for this gadget, I'd be careful until the truck is out of warranty. Seems Ford will use any reason to not honour warranty.

Oops, I see you're a hybrid... so some of my comments may not apply. Do let us know how your hybrid ECO experience is.

I put one on my Mav about 6 months ago.....Works GREAT.

Please make sure that when you order it that you choose the correct one. There are 2 different models available - One for vehicle with Remote Start on Key and One for vehicle without Remote start on Key. They are different and you must order the correct one. (Please don't ask me how I know....LOL).

Many people who have the hybrid prefer "slippery" mode for better coasting and fuel economy.

I've just developed a habit of hitting the button when I start up. If I haven't cleared the other startup nag screens it is 5 presses. If I have cleared the startup nag screens it is 4 presses. I don't know why...

I drove from northern Delaware to Eire, PA for the eclipse on ECO and got 40.3MPG for the full trip. Only had to get gas once.

Slippery mold is much better for gas mileage on the hybrid. You have better coasting than ECO Mode. Try it! Once you start using it you will not use ECO. My son who is 16 and learning how to drive I use ECO for it make the gas pedal stiffer so there is less fluctuation with speed as he learns how to easy on to the gas.

This.

I get slightly better mpg using Slippery, vs Eco. Some of it may have to do with how/where you drive. Much of my driving is under 40 mph and very hilly terrain.

I believe that Slippery Mode applies the torque more gradually as you move forward and reduces the amount of regen when slowing down.....Both done to reduce the chances of losing traction and spinning tires.
