Or rather, all hybrids have auto-start stop but it's an essential function so they don't let you turn it off. Virtually all hybrids shut off the engine when you come to a stop, you just don't notice it because they smoothly restart the engine when you begin pulling forward on electric power.

No auto-start-stop on hybrids. The button on the right is Auto-Hold. When it's on, when you come to a complete stop, you don't need to hold the brake pedal. The truck will keep itself stopped until you press the accelerator.
Pretty hard to believe people can't figure these buttons out either by trying them or google or yea they are in the manual.

Why does my ‘24 XLT hybrid have ( or not have)switches that aren’t in the manual or quick reference guide? The console switch on the right in the photo? It’s not in the symbol index.
And the auto start- stop shut off switch? I read about it in the manual, I know what it looks like.
But it ain’t on my truck.

And that credit card slot beneath the three buttons is so you can pre-pay for services when you drop off your truck at the dealer. It's Ford's version of a credit card reader, sort of like ApplePay.

Isn't that slot the razor blade disposal slot when you're finished cutting your throat after the hybrid cuts off when you're in the left lane of a crowed interstate at 80 mph.

I believe they do. It's just not as noticeable as in the ICE Mavericks.

It sounds like I have a lot to look forward to.
I traded in a 2012 Focus S towards the Mav. In 12 years the Focus was trouble free.

There are some reports of full loss of power in some vehicles after getting a recall done. I don't know if it is more than one recall, but the one I've seen mentioned is 24C01/24V140. I have that recall scheduled for Tuesday, thinking about cancelling it.

So if I understand you correctly you are saying that you can come to a stop and your engine is off because it has been automatically stopped in order to save fuel. And then maybe not immediately when you take off but whenever the truck needs it the engine is automatically started again.

Are you claiming this automatic start/stop of the engine does not constitute auto start/stop technology because there is no button to control it?

Based on Ford's specs for the 2022 Maverick trims, I have to disagree with you. Just because there's not a disable button doesn't mean the function does not exist. You'll see various aftermarket auto stop/start eliminator products for that purpose. Anyway, here's the spec sheet. If there's something I've missed or need to be informed about, please let me know.

I agree with everything in this post except for the very odd leap of logic that asserts the system in the hybrid that auto stop/starts the engine isn’t an auto start/stop system.

You’ve done a good example of explaining the differences of the AS/S systems in the hybrid and the Ecoboost. But… okay? You haven’t actually explained why any of that makes the AS/S in the hybrid not an AS/S.
