Well we all know that guy. My good buddy has been running tacomas for a long time. His last two have had some issues. Nothing the dealer didn’t take care of. But he stated the reliability he was told about seems to be gone. He’s had transmission and other random issues.I wish that were true, people get really whiny about the Maverick on literally any site that isn't here or another Mav focused group.
I haven't even got mine yet and my brother is already on with the stupid comments about why I didn't get a "real" truck or how I should have waited 12-18 months and paid $15,000 more for a Tacoma because they're "better".
Although, this is a guy who has crapped on every Toyota I've ever owned so I'm very used to ignoring him but I already know he isn't going to be the last person to tell me how I should have spent my money.
Keep in mind he really put a truck through the paces so anything will break. But after riding in my maverick he will probably be driving one on his next purchase. I can tell you for a fact it does the two main truck things better than his 18 taco for sure. Hauling and towing. The towing isn’t even close. They handle the towing fine but his definitely struggles more and shifts a lot more.
