I keep getting the DeepSleep alerts if I don't drive my 2024 XLT Hybrid every day~~~~ I don't want/need to go anywhere every day.
So the alert says the I may have to Jumpstart it. Can anyone tell me which terminals to hook my Halo jump pack to in these pics?
The Blue circled one has a "+" on it and the Red circled one has a "+" too so I assume one of those is for the Positive clamp. And how do you get the correct cover off to get the jumper clamp onto it?
The Green circled one is for the Negative clamp I assume~~~~~ the picture in my owners manual doesn't look exactly like these pictures. Manual was printed August 2023 so the pics in manual may be for a 2023 Hybrid.
ALSO~~~ any ideas on how to keep the DeepSleep alerts from texting me every 48 hours without going for a drive~~~ that kinda defeats purpose of saving money on fuel, thanks

It looks like the blue one has a no jumpstart symbol on the cover.

RED use the RED for the + Post! Negative is the circled unthreaded post.

It would NOT be wise to use the one circled in Blue.

Convenient of Ford to bury the positive that you are supposed to use (with the red cover) under a big, fat cable but leave the positive that you aren't supposed to use (with the black cover) easily accessible.

Yet another example of vehicle designers not taking into account accessibility for repairs/maintenance...

Thanks, I see the black one ( Blue circled one) has the "circle with a line through it" symbol.
How do ya get the red cover off without damaging it so it will go back in place?
Anyone ever had to take it off to Jumpstart?

It is hinged and pops open.

Thanks Doug Wildman, I see now to operate it; hope I don't have to do it often, that hinge is very flimsy and thin

Put a maintenance charger on it regularly. Running a lead acid battery low all the time will sulfate the plates and ruin the battery. I am retired and have the same driving habits. I suggest getting a battery monitor to keep track oh the levels. Antigravity is the brand I use. Hook it to the battery directly before the BMS device on the negative side and the other lead on the positive. https://a.co/d/9MOvLBJ
I charge mine when it says low which is about once a week. It communicates directly to my phone Bluetooth and has a great app for the device.

Thanks , that looks great, I'm not sure I am smart enough to do what you said, without a few pictures to completely understand. Would you be able to send me some pics? And I don't know what the BMS is either. And i think you mean the battery under the rear passenger seat or am I assuming incorrectly?
That would be helpful; I don't want to screw up and void any warranties, thank you in advance

I use a NOCO battery charger/tender/maintainer. Walmart or Amazon. I connect it to the jump posts under the hood, whenever I won't be driving for a few days. If you short-trip a lot, you should use one periodically. Some say to connect it under the back seat, but I've never had issues with connecting it to the the jump posts.

Not keeping a lead-acid battery charged will severely limit its capacity to hold a full charge, and can shorten the life of it. If yours has already been run down a lot, you may have already damaged it.

If it gets to where yours will not start your truck, take it in for a warranty replacement, if still in warranty.

I have a ā€˜23 Mav hybrid that worked perfectly from when I picked it up new in Feb ā€˜23 til about November when it started getting cold here in Ohio. I started getting the dreaded battery alerts on the Ford Pass App suggesting I drive the truck more to fix the problem. Ok I’ll drive it more! I drove it on some day trips which put 100 to 200 miles which fixed the low battery issue for one or two days then the message was came back.
I took the truck to my local Ford Dealer they had it for a day and said they couldn’t find anything wrong (battery checked ok, no codes, they put the charger on the battery, everything looked ok). I began putting it on my trickle charger at home when I got the message which worked, I screwed around with it for a couple of months. I started looking at AGM batteries $250, then I thought to myself, this is crap, it’s not even a year old so I decided to take it back til something was done.
My dealer is a small dealership in a small town. The day I went in the service manager was covering the service writers for lunch. I told him the whole story and he told me he’d have the tech dig deeper into the problem. He had a young guy and an older guy work on it. They had it for four hours. I sat there and waited, periodically they would come ask me questions. There was a recall to update one of the computers which they did and what else they did I don’t know. I haven’t had the battery message since! So my uneducated guess= Ford Motor Co solved the problem by adjusting how the computer charges and controls the gas & electric motors but who knows

Why wouldn't a person jump start the actual battery under the rear seat?
