What do you think of it? I installed both clean and dirty catch cans from UPR about 2k miles ago now. Reserving my thoughts so I don't skew your opinion.

I’ve been really considering the benefit of installing catch cans.
I had a terrible experience with my last car’s engine and keeping my maverick engine in good condition is very important to me.
If it helps to increase the lifespan of the engine I’d love to get this done.
I would definitely like to hear your thoughts about it or how it’s been going with it installed.

Not a mechanic so not totally sure what the catch can does. I do know I will be installin gone when warranty is up because I see so many here saying they are good to have.

Not certain if it does effectively the same as a catch can, but I have been running a can of CRC Intake cleaner every 10k. Don't know if it helps but figure it can't hurt.

How does that CRC work? Do you just add it to your fuel?

I added a catch can to my Maverick from early on. No regrets. It’s not expensive though I paid to have mine installed (I’m not a mechanic). However, you only need it IF you have the Ecoboost engine. You don’t need it if you have the hybrid.

Recently installed a Mishimoto Compact Baffled 'Clean Side' Oil Catch Can and a J&L OSC Co. 'Dirty Side' Oil Catch Can (pictures below). They've both only been on for a few hundred miles so no reviews yet, but I am very happy with how we figured out how to fit them into the engine compartment around the engine cover, etc. The fit and finish turned out well - in my opinion.

That appears to be a "clean side" catch can plumbed into the breather system, which is also good to have, but the "dirty side" catch can plumbed into the PCV is the one that will catch the excess nastiness being fed back into the engine. Might consider adding one to your truck- worth at least looking into.

I installed the UPR clean and dirty sides, and opted for their improved check valve as well.

Installed at about 500 miles and catching lots of nasty stuff on the dirty side, very little on the clean side.

Very impressed with the quality of the setup, especially like the quick connect fittings. All made in USA high quality parts. Only thing I wish is that I could fit a larger can. It appears in the winter I need to empty about every 1k miles. Would love to be able to only do it at oil changes. Will see how it is in the summer.

Very clean looking easy install on the dirty side (well worth it IMO). Not sure if I'll do the clean side catch can. I think those don't get as much stuff trapped in them.

The catch cans from UPR are very easy to install. Takes maybe 1/2 an hour at the most. The hoses that come with the kit attach right to the factory fittings and to the can itself. The cans bracket (dirty side catch can)attaches to an existing hole with the bolt, nut & washers that's included.

Was the clean side as easy to install as the dirty side catch can?

I struggled a little with the PCV, but ultimately it wasn't too bad. Likewise I struggled with the breather clips on the clean side and ended up breaking them. At least I could see what I was doing though. Ultimately clean side was easier to install.

Yeah at 1st finding that u shaped hose and where they clipped in was confusing but the youtube video explaining the process & what to feel for really helped me and was real simple once you knew where to place your hands.
