My maverick died today in rush hour traffic! I was sitting still in along line of cars talking to my wife on the phone when my maverick just died. no power at all, no phone, would not restart initially. Without power I couldn't put it in neutral to push it out of the way! I jumped out to help three or four vehicles get around me. After about three minutes I tried again and thankfully it started and I was able to make it home without any other problems. Is this a one off flaky electrical problems I read about here on the forums? I received my maverick on 3/28/23 it had 6032 miles when it failed. I haven't had any of the recalls done yet, thinking if they come up with a fix for the fire recall would have them all done at the same time. The only consistent issue I have is most mornings there is no interior lighting and I chalk that up to the inadequate 12v battery that Ford has yet to address. Has anyone else had this particular problem and how do you move the maverick if you have no power to get the truck to neutral ?

Hate to here about your troubles with your hybrid. I have a hybrid also. Maybe check and clean your battery terminals.

Maybe it’s the dreaded 12v battery cable. Get the dealer to test

I’ve had mines for almost 2years and 29k miles on it with nothing but oil changes and a window switch going bad. Sorry to hear your experience

What is your drive like, how far and how often? Have you noticed any deep sleep low power mode signs like the interior lights not coming on when you open the door, or app notifications?

...how do you move the maverick if you have no power to get the truck to neutral ?
You'd need an external 12V jump pack if the truck's 12V battery is the problem.
You need most of the Maverick's electronics working to shift into Neutral.

External Controls - Overview
Overview
The shift by wire system uses a rotary dial GSM to interface with the PCM to select gear positions.
The shift by wire system needs a 12 volt power source to move the transmission out of park.

EMERGENCY TOWING - HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE (HEV)
If your vehicle becomes inoperable without access to wheel dollies or a vehicle transport trailer, it can be flat-towed with all wheels on the ground, regardless of the powertrain and transmission configuration, under the following conditions:
• Your vehicle is facing forward for towing in a forward direction.
• You switch Neutral Tow on.
• You release the parking brake.

I regularly do not have interior lighting the first time I get in truck in the morning. I don’t use the app so no alerts. I lock the truck if I’m leaving town without it. I love this truck but the flaky electrical system needs a permanent solution as does the engine fire issue, Ford are you paying attention? I use the truck daily for mostly short trips and only have driven it 6k miles in eleven months. The only way I will take it to the dealer is if it happens again or I hear on this forum that Ford has a real fix for inadequate charging system!

Had mine 'towed' into the dealer yesterday, the drive screen was going crazy with a variety of things needing service hopefully the video loads, after 6 hours waiting for Turds emergency service to show up the truck was fine, three hours running at the dealer they couldn't replicate the problem, I'm wondering if the extended warranty is still available.

Have your battery tested at the dealer. Mine was bad and it was replaced with a higher capacity battery, no charge. I have not had any trouble since. 23 Hybrid

Hey Ford, mentioned many times before ...

1) Add the ability to mechanically (i.e. without applying external power) move/roll out a dead HYBRID Maverick out of a compromised (dead) position. Currently, 99% of the time, when a Maverick is dead, it has no OEM onboard power ... the HYBRID must have an external power source (like a Jump Box) available to supply enough temporary power to allow the user to turn on the vehicle and move it out of a locked "P"-to-"N" so it can be rolled out ... IMHO, this is a serious safety issue.

That’s would be a scary situation for sure. The fact that you haven’t had any recalls done yet is a red flag for me. I would take it in and have everything done so it’s up to date. I recently had some issues with the sync system. Found out that I was a version behind and used a USB to update it myself. That was the solution and it hasn’t acted up since. Good luck and don’t lose hope!

I thought the fire recall only applied to MY22 with production dates up to mid 22.

My hybrid was built in March of 2023 and delivered at the end of March. I received the fire recall notice.
