5% is actually a pretty big number. We are talking like 4 or 5 trips from sea to shining sea against a vehicles avg lifespan. Aside from that those datio charts aren't about safety. They are about ideal driving characteristics and the usable power rpm ranges.

As for Toyota. I have ridden in, drove, or even offroader one from the last 4 decades( no 2020s, but i did flat tow one)Not one has fit my body comfortably, felt anymore durable inside than their contemporaries, or inspired any sense of confidence that warranted their high regard and used prices. Similar to the iPhone cult. It's always they are the best, the best, the best. So why do I always hear, I need a new one, why won't it connect, my charge port is clogged. It's just parroting popularity in bubbles.

We will see where the Maverick journey takes us. I think we will all be surprised in one way or another.

About the trashy business. I don't think that's necessary. Call me poor if you want. I wasn't attacking your Toyotas. But I do take offense of any type of popular band wagon. A good rule of thumb is if everyone is doing something, watch closely and proceed with caution.
Considering I was the only one mentioning my lifting experiences and my previous Tacoma, I know it was directed at me. I agree with you btw about the cultist mindset and the "if everyone else is doing something" trend - which seems to be the reason why this size tire was accepted in the first place and another reason why I got out of my Tacoma - it just wasn't that great. So color me a realist and I'll side with those optimal driving characteristics of said RPM ranges for DD vehicles when considering tire size. I don't think the tire size here is pushing our 8 speed tranny's into the 2.5 range at 70mph, but I know it's a lot more than those of us running a single size up. I still firmly believe there is nothing you are going to do with the clearance of a Maverick with 265's that you can't do with 245's and that extra bit of tire won't be the factor all in getting you out of a potentially stuck situation in softer grounding with this vehicles limited AWD capability. And you also mentioned usage based - which I also agree on - and OP has made it very clear they are an aggressive driver and tuner.

I see this whole thing as a flex. OP said it best - their intention was to show off. Consider it shown. I never tried to pass off my guestimate of 80k as a "fact" either. Maybe I should have made it more clear? The intention was early failure rates increasing drastically. Like you said, we'll find out in the long run but there is a lot of evidence to support the stress of all this including my own setup. It's just that one is easily arguable among safer limits than the other.

listen here’s why nobody can take you seriously.
You make a lot of assumptions about things then get mad when someone assumes things about you.

First you state that my tires are way over the safe limit with no facts or data to clear it up. Stating they are very heavy.
When in fact your setup is heavier.
Whe I point that out you pivot to the size and how they rotate. Btw you never responded because I believe you realized you were wrong to my fact that a bigger tire does in fact rotate less time around per mile than a small one. A point you said I must not understand.
So when I state that you ignore and move on. Same case with you stating the dumbest concept ever that my tire size is harder on the drivetrain than a tune. Lol
You have no way to back it up either or have any reason why the factory would trq limit our power to save what for it. The driveline.
You have a unique ability to shift the goal post change the subject or straight up ignore a reasonable point.
What happened here is you jumped on my thread to try to be some authority on a subject or act like what you did was correct and what I did was wrong.
You can continue to keep sliding to a different area of why like from the weight which was your first point you brought up until you realized yours are heavier. Then you went to the height. Which may in fact be better for wear as they roll around less.
Now your trying to say that my tires are so tall that they will cause damage while at the same time saying the height won’t help any off road over your shorter ones.
What are you even try to prove here other than to make people think your dumb or an a hole neither is a good look.
If you really think they won’t do any better why would you go 245? Why would anyone every change a tire size for bigger.
This is another thing that comes off as salty for some reason.
How much will these help over your who knows but what we do know is if the tire is .25” taller it will have roughly another .25” of clearance over an object. That may not help or it may be all that is needed to clear a rut.

Hey guys.
After redid these post and going back and forth. I think everything has been stated.
First off I would like to apologize to Montana.
Because it is the internet it’s easy to read things the wrong way which I’m sure I have. Which leads me to think I responded wrong.
Sorry.
Listen at the end of the day that guy has a pretty cool build and obviously enjoys his truck. I’m just getting started on my build and journey.
What we have is way more in common than not. I’m sure if we ever met in real life we more than likely would get along great and check out each others truck with some kind of connection. I always have and always will believe that open back and forth is good for everyone. We don’t have to agree and that’s fine. We both are doing our own thing. And both truck will be different and cool at the same time.
So again Montana I would like to apologize and if we ever cross paths I will buy the first round and dinner good sir.

My tires are 30.05 tall, 10.03 wide…. No rubbing but it sure does look close. My completely unscientific observations… seems like 1/2 tall would be a whee bit too big. But if a simple reworking of the liner fixes it then yeah… I might go that big next time too! I always am amused at those who ask about mpg loss. If mpg was a concern, then we wouldn’t be putting on bigger tires (or lifts, etc). You know that going in, losing mpg is a trade off. Worth it for some, not worth it for others. Which is why it’s a free country 😁
Will be interesting to see how much the liner says Everytime it gets wet????

where did you find your rims, I've got 18s that aren't bad but I hate the flat black look.
found some on Tire Rack but they're out of stock with no ETA
Hey on the plus side for a change his rims look like roto forme ones which if so will be lighter and offset a significant portion of his additional tire weight. His setup does look good.

I always look for lightweight wheels. Currently running 18x8.5 flow formed wheels
Ford Maverick 265/60-18 Cooper Rugged Trek tires installed 20240213_174802
that weight 18.5lbs.

But some Mavericks have CV issues from the factory? And anyone who off-roads is gonna tear a boot here and there. The world is not a laboratory and if it is the aliens aren't telling us the results.

Any reliability fact stated on the forum doesn't really mean crap for about another 5 to 10 years. It's just the way things are.
The aliens are not telling us things because they are enjoying watching us engaging in all kinds of crap instead of working to get our hinnies off planet before some big a$$ interstellar event they know is coming. Perhaps they are only waiting to see what we do when in 13k years during the next glacial period will have ice several thousand feet over NYC and will be fighting over ocean front property 100+ miles off the coast of Bermuda?

How was this a fail? This in my opinion is what we need more of. Social debate call it. Neither one of us got nasty. No threats nothing I actually applaud him for not doing so.
This is nothing more than extended debate of what we both think is acceptable for tire size.
He made points l counter pointed. Nothing more nothing less. We both came away knowing more than we did before.

Wow you’re one of the few people I’ve heard that also has seen that we have entered into a global cooling cycle. Since 08 temps have stabilized and should start to head down for some 240 years.

There are many things that affect global warming/cooling. There happens to be a sunspot this week (also varies the wave length and quantity of solar radiation the earth receives) which is large enough to be see WHILE WEARING ECLIPSE GLASSES with your naked eye. I have not looked yet but may put them on today. 8-9000 years ago the Sahara was grass land. Also of interest the Mayan calendar that predicted a new beginning closely cycles with the 26000 year wobble of the earths axis of rotation.
