Supertech Advanced Full Synthetic 20k WSS Approved

Hi y'all, just joined so this is actually my first post but I've done a lot of snooping before and after buying my truck last Monday. 2024 with all-wheel drive, 4K tow package, and cp360. I try to do all of my own maintenance and suspension work so started with some oil threads. I found that the 10K full synthetic from Walmart had the WSS but couldn't find anything on the 20K. I reached out to Warren this morning and they sent me the SDS sheets for both of them so I can confirm the advanced full synthetic 20K also carries all WSS ratings just in case anybody wanted to file a copy on the off chance a warranty needed it or tried to deny because of it.

According to Ben Retzer, Director of Product Technology over at Highline Warren, it does.

No, I made no mention of what my oil change schedule is. The oil itself is called Supertech Advanced Full Synthetic 20k. They claim it is good for 20k miles, but I plan on changing the ecoboost about every 5k - 7.5k regardless of driving habits or conditions just to be safe except for high volume towing which might be one year at best in which case I'll go earlier.

Kool; In AZ I have always used 5000mi or 12mo as my maximums in the past. I have a 24 Hybrid and the dealers here typically recommend 5k and 6 mo; which I will likely follow. My main concern is the small filter size in my Mav.

It's good stuff and the same as amazon and costco branded oils. We are at this weird place where this cheap walmart synthetic oil is literally worlds better than the best dinosaur oils of the 1990s.

The base oil is better, the additive packages are better, the quality control is better. It's all I use in my out of warranty cars.

For most people's vehicles under normal use I'd be very surprised to see a long term wear difference between a car getting a steady diet of super tech vs a "premium" oil.

My anecdotal evidence suggests you're correct. I had a Subaru Impreza we were running Blackstone analysis on each oil change and kept bumping it up as an experiment. Blackstone and I got to 20k miles with the oil and they said the acidification, viscosity, and wear package was still well within spec and average or less wear metals present so basically said we could keep extending but it would not be advisable. Dropped back to a "normal" schedule and lab results never changed. Sold the car with 180k on the engine, original clutch and no problems to not. Kid is still driving the snot out of it I sold it to. Probably need a do not try at home disclaimer but I have confidence if nothing else.

I should also add that was on a naturally aspirated engine and not the turbo. I'll just stick to a normal if not conservative schedule on the maverick since I have the 7yr/125k warranty so don't want to mess around too much.

Under normal use, if you stick to a 5k replacement schedule the oil will never even come close to wearing out. IMO getting the new filter on there regularly is just as important and maybe more so given that the oil is more durable.

Great info. Thanks. Need to do oil change on 23 hybrid this weekend. Does the oil filter need to meet any particular Ford specs and if so does the Walmart filter meet the specs?

When i looked at the jug of supertech oil 0w 20 for the m2c962-a1 on labeling. it was no where to be found. i did see 962-a1 on other manufacturers oil bottles. So what do you think?

Here's the spec sheet if you want to save it to be safe. I got this direct from Supertech after sending them an email.

Wait I see you said 0w so you're a hybrid. I'd say email Highline Warren direct. They were great about getting back to me
