I believe he's referring to the total cost of the project. I don't expect you to answer and honestly consider it kind of rude to ask.

It's like when someone who does not ride MTB asks me what mine costs. I just say it's not something you find in a Wal-Mart, or anything other than telling a stranger how much money something costs / is worth. Basically, how you just answered.

Someone I worked with knew I was an avid EDCer and always had a light/knife, and one day they asked to borrow it real quick and I look at them like they were crazy. Not even my budget work EDC. Tell me what you want and I will do it lol. But I do enjoy the sharing setups with other EDCers. Especially the ones that do it for the insta clout and actually can't afford the setups. I'm like "you know there are tons of great budget options, right?" and even some of my favorites are budget setups. Kershaws for example... $40 knife. It breaks? get a new one. Break that Chris Reeves tip and you are going to be crying. Which is why some of those rarely get carried anymore lol. I broke one $400 ZT and thankfully they have replacement programs, but it's still costly. Warranties don't cover everything.
