The 6K cool white is a great match to the factory low beams.

The white provides a significant increase in road-legal output due to the width and intensity.

The 3K selective yellow is highly effective in providing visibility fog, rain, or dust.

Some users prefer yellow light output for styling but it is highly effective in the proper setting and less fatigue to the eyes at night.

Here is an example of how 3K selective yellow doesn't refract light in a snow setting with our SS3 LED pods:

3k is traditionally NOT YELLOW.

3k is traditionally “warm white”.

Hell, I have 2700k all inside my home, living room, kitchen.
It’s not yellow.

(I will preface this with I don't have any sort of degree in lighting tech. But I have spent a ridiculous amount of time researching and learning about lights and the color of them.)

You sound like fun at a party.

I have 5000K bulbs in my house because I HATE with the passion of the burning sun the actual COLOR of 2000K-3500K light. It has an obvious tint of yellow to it.

@Diode Dynamics gave you a PERFECT scientific explanation of the reason. And you don't like it because "Thats not what the Walmart bulb box says"

So lets play the NAME game. Even in the picture you posted, the color representing "Bright White" is YELLOW. Above that is orange with a NAME of "Soft White".
You can find all sorts of color charts online that show 3000k is in the YELLOW spectrum of light. But the LIGHTING industry chose a NAME that would be more understood by the general public.

In your response to DD you have this . Which is fantastic because you gave evidence of 3000K being yellow. With the highlighted section stating it has LESS of a YELLOW hue than 2700K.

@Diode Dynamics the installation video does not show where you put the switch inside the truck. I think another poster asked about this too. At the risk of speaking for others I think it’s safe to say we would love to see where and how you installed the switch inside the truck.

While incandescent lights lean yellow, I don't think anyone would call them actually yellow. Hence a dyed lens goes over them to make them very yellow similar to posted above.

3000 Kelvin is still generally very white.
The white light we've had in homes and businesses for 100 years.

But I note you call them 3K and not 3000 Kelvin so I guess not apples to apples and maybe that was not the intent.

I was thinking of tapping or adding to the current headlight nodule but probably not worth the trouble. I'll add this switch next to my brake controller or buy an EBAY $8 switch if I don't like the kit one. Ebay lighted one just requires a hole and it pops in with a small shroud to cover the hole sides.

For wiring I pan on hooking up as follows: Whenever the fog switch is on I want the amber color led on so I will tap that cable into the power for the led strip I installed under the hood which is always powered once the truck is running. For the white light I will tap that line into the parking light lline so that anytime any lights are on (parking, high or low) the white fog lights will be on. Should work since it sounds like they are using two sensing wires to control the fog lights on and their color mode.

I was looking at the ebay pushbutton on /off with different colors and international symbols. I think the 16mm one might fit perfectly on the headlight switch in the blank rectangle on the right on the switch.

Yeh...I was looking at Ebay Explorer switches to see the back and sides of that control module. I was thinking of using an Explorer hatch switch like Mavguy did but it looks like the switch face is curved somewhat and may not just snap into the slot when rotated 180 degrees. I'll look for some 16mm Ebay switches to see if they will work. Worst case I can get another faceplate if needed from a $45 Explorere unit if I screw it up.

Generic chinese made switch on Amazon or ebay. The plus is it's easy to find to replace if it breaks.

Question, the C1 rear hitch kit, the one that give Red & backup for us 2K hitches. Does the plug & play also give us a brake light in addition to taillight and backup? Thanx.

The big talk of the thread is no it does not. And no one has been able to adequately explain why a 4k tow will; and not the others.

Theories; but no definitive answer.

Yeh. That's not going in my panel. I ordered a bunch of silver and black latching switches in 12mm and 16mm sizes and will probably use one of them. Pretty cheap on Ebay...probably hot glue one in the headlight switch panel since the backside nut may be too big to use. Some of the lights on Ebay include pigtails. I wanted an orange fog light icon but they are all 19mm so I will use a power icon and just twist it 90degrees counterclockwide to make it look like a light.
