I'm new to car audio. I was hoping to improve my Ford Maverick's factory sound. I have been looking for something more plug-and-play so Google searching brought to me to hoel and plugandplay harnesses. It's seem the the kicker key 200.4 seem the most popular configuration. I like the DSP function since I'm perfectly fine with the factory stereo and there are no good aftermarket headunit support for mavericks.

Now, this confuses me since the Maverick has 2 tweeters and 4 speakers. It seems that the harness combines the tweeter and front door speakers (or tweeters separate and door speakers combined). Is this a good idea? Will there be any adverse effects to the tweeter since it might send a signal that it might not support and blow it?

Edit: I have a non-BO version

If the tweeters don’t have a crossover you’re gonna have to put some kind of a crossover in there so you wont blow them. The simplest would be something like a 3.3 uf non-polarized capacitor . That’s some basic advice there’s a lots of threads out here with way more complex systems that people have done .
You may wanna look at those a few times and just get an idea

If you have the Kicker Key run in bi-amp mode where it's amplifying the front doors and tweeters then you don't need a discrete crossover; when you configure it for bi-amp operation it automatically detects there's tweeters and sets a crossover function internally. Although you would need to separate the tweeter circuit from the woofer.

Bi-amp is considered the more optimal solution as the rear speakers aren't really that acoustically ideal/performant.

Several people have said it's pretty easy to pop the dash side covers off and fish new speaker wire there for bi-amping components, but I personally haven't done it (because I didn't need to, with B&O).
