My New today Mav. Hybrid almost feels like the cruise control is on. When on flat hiway @ 40 mph just seems to coast forever. My 2018 Rav4 Hybrid never acted like this. It is quite different from the Toyota Hybrid System have nothing else to compare it to, but on the brakes more then i like to be maybe use L not sure ?

what drive mode are you using? ECO will increase regenerative braking and slow you down when foot off accelerator more than other modes. It does make a difference.

FYI it coasts for days in Slippery mode.

In normal mode it is like a normal car.
Eco, Sport, or Tow mode it will regen brake strongly slowing you quickly.

It is ALMOST IDENTICAL to Toyota's Rav4 hybrid and Venza Hybrid. Both technically, and subjectively. I've had all three and have studied these vehicles in great detail. Your post makes sense only if the truck was in slippery mode. Perhaps by accident.

Yes need more time behind the wheel and try the other modes just my first impressions in sport mode with the ghost cruise control feel will need to explore the different modes and see how it reacts. Thanks

Every time you turn the key off it defaults to normal. It does not "remember" last mode used.

Switch to ECO mode and you will immediately be able to tell the difference not only in braking but also MPG

ECO mode is the best. I found it will slow you down to 5 mph and no lower.

I have had my Hybrid for just over a year, and am still gun shy about trying out the different modes. This comes from all my years in British sports cars. I finally got Lucas electric overdrive put into my last TR3B, and I CRINGED every time I flicked that OD switch, whether on or off. Woody Hayes was afraid to throw a pass ("three things can happen, and two of them are bad"). Well, I am the same with "switches." Lastly, does GOD want me to throw that switch?

No reason to be tranny shy...it does still work in every mode. Existentialists love every mode.

I also have all 3. Yes, they feel almost identical when foot off the gas pedal.
