I've seen many people posting about leaks that can't be found, and there was a post about the rear third light as a possible cause. I noticed on my brand new Lariat that there is a space at the top of this light (see photo) where water could get to, although I believe there is a gasket there to prevent it. However, does everyone's space look like this one? Wanted to find out in case there's a solution needed to prevent future problems.

To clarify, I mean leaks that can't be found and seep down into the truck. And the roof being the possible reason. Not the water visibly dripping from the roof into the cab itself. Some people suggested it's leaking through the windshield for example. Only seen these reports on MTC and YouTube so not sure of it's prevalence.

Do you have a sunroof? I only ask because I have read and commented on ford sunroofs having issues.

I do. I think one of the posts I saw was for an XL without a sunroof. Could have been a door leak like mentioned above but some posts people say they don't know where still.

Never heard of these leaks. We get crazy 'monsoons' from time to time, no leaks. I'll have to look if my gap looks the same as the photo.

Mine has the small gap like your pic, no issues with any leaks anywhere, there is a gasket, noticed it when I installed led bulbs in the clear portions of the light.

My MAv has a Sunroof, with zero leaks. Would love to know where you read these comments

Yes. Mine looks just like that. No water leak. I removed it to swap out the cyclops brake light, and when you screw it back down the gasket is compressed tightly all around. The plastic frame won't screw all the way down to the body. I've never had any water leaks from there or anywhere to date (10.5 months).

PS: I have no moon roof, but that can be a problem source ;)

I have a sunroof, zero leaks. My light does not have the gap pictured above, sits flush to the cab.
