I'll accept all comment and critiques, no matter how harsh. Just be honest.

- I want a Hybrid with a high MPG.
- I'll be going on dirt roads and backroads in rural Connecticut with occasional highway use.
- I've picked some stuff I don't really need, with the idea of keeping the vehicle for 4-5 years. I'm gonna baby this thing.

Mostly I want to know if any options don't make sense, or will super-delay my order, or will somehow "conflict" with other options (or my use-case). The Lariat seems overkill although heated seats and lane-centering are tempting (though I want to learn Copilot360 without lane-centering so I can be a better driver), and the XL seems too barebones. Not interested in Tremor, despite going on dirt roads I won't be offroading much.

No matter what, even if I get a '22 used, I'd be extremely happy. This is the truck for me. :)

PS- I'm very undecided on color... for past models, Cyber Orange was #1, then Area 51 at #2... I'm intending on a '24 (I want the experience of buying a car new and not used) and so I'm left with Azure Gray (closest to Area 51), Oxford White (easier to repaint later? and I like white), and Iconic Silver (nod to my deceased grandfather's F-150).

Curious about anyone who got these colors, why they chose them, and their experiences so far regarding dirt and mud, etc.

Splash guards are a curse of order death. Always a problem. So stay away! You'd think they'd find a new vendor

Hi
You will love the truck, especially the fuel savings.
The only option I would drop is the power moon roof, will only lead to problems in a state that gets so much icing on vehicles.
Enjoy

I find the CP 360 is a good safety addition. I also think improvements made to the XL (cruise control) make it ideal for resale. The moon roof and rear window slider are not that great for general driving. Lastly, floor mats will be worth it over a black OEM carpet. Good luck...it is a marvelous vehicle.

Interesting... I really liked moonroofs in my family member's cars, especially, umm... enjoying some herb with my sister. 🤣 So that was a consideration for the moonroof haha.

Was wondering about those! I have a paranoia that the "accessories" are way overpriced but I honestly don't know.

Keep the engine block heater (you can't add it later). Keep the keypad.

Keep the luxury package.

360 is nice but not that great.

Dump everything else that is optional and do it later.

Get any color other than white.

Personally here is what I would drop:
Splash Guards
Protective Film
Window Air Deflector
Roadside Assistance Kit
Ash Cut/Coin Holder
Carpeted Floor Mats (Just go with the liners)
Power Moonroof
Console Vault

I don't understand asking for other people's input.... It's your truck... you don't need validation from other people... If I were to ask folks what they thought of my build, they would tear it apart... and then I'd be ordering something that I don't really want.

@Potentilla I would agree with several folks who have already commented.
  • Configure and buy the truck however you want.
  • Drop all of the Dealer Installed Options (DIOs) and buy them later:
    • Roadside Assistance Kit
    • Ash Cup/Coin Holder
    • Keep the floor liners if you want; I had them on my 2022 XL and they were good enough. I opted not to order them for the 2023 XLT BAP and ordered from Weathertech instead.
    • Remove the splash guards. You can get the factory ones or from a number of aftermarket companies. I ordered a set for my 2023 XLT from Weathertech (with the floor mats).
    • Console Vault
    • Protective Hood Film => Factory install is not as high quality as a shop specializing in film application... Get this done locally or through the dealer with a local provider.
    • Window Air Deflector => I would buy these later as well... Keep an eye out on the classifieds and buy them from someone who bought them and decided to sell. I have seen a couple of sets offered here on MTC.
In the end, however, you might come out ahead getting a Lariat. Your configuration with the following configuration -- 2024 XLT Hybrid in Azure Gray with XLT Luxury Package, CP360, Bed Tie Down Locking Rails with 2 Locking Brackets, Tailgate Lock, Engine Block Heater, SecuriCode™ Keyless-Entry Keypad – MIC, Floor Liners, & Power Moonroof -- comes out to $35,195.

A similar 2024 Lariat Hybrid comes out to $37,280. I think there is enough added to the Lariat to justify the additional $2K.

In the end, however, you might be better off buying one of the 2023s for sale at Long McArthur Ford in Salina KS. I think there is an Area 51 XLT with the XLT Luxury Package and CP360. Even with the $2500 ADM, you are below the price you would pay for the 2024. Reach out to Tim Bartz (@fordvideoguy) if you are ready to buy now.

If you want a hybrid I wouldn’t wait to long to pull the trigger. Even now it may be difficult to find a dealer with hybrid allocations left.

IMO, I think you should remove these items from the build in order for it to be built sooner and use your ford pass points you get when truck is purchased and use those points to help pay for some of these items from the dealer accessories dept or a separate 3rd party supplier

Splash Guards, Molded, Front and Rear (4-piece)
Protective Film Hood/Fenders
Window Air Deflector (4-Piece)
Roadside Assistance Kit
Ash Cup / Coin Holder
Console Vault

I can't access your build but I echo @OleFordGuy. Don't add anything to your order that you or your dealer can add after the fact.

I can't see your build for some reason? Iconic silver doesn't show when it's dirty, I love the lux package, and the co-pilot 360, the CP saved me a good bit on my auto insurance.
I would drop the dealer options that you can get later as there are better aftermarket options out there. I also recommend spray in bedliner over drop in (I'll never buy a drop in again)
