Well I finally hit a year on our 2022 Maverick Hybrid XL. It is cactus gray with a moonroof, 2k tow package, center console plug ๐Ÿ”Œ, dealer installed Keypad entry, the perimeter security plus for remote start on the fobs, and mud flaps.

Ordered 10/21 received 10/22, a year at 10/23.

Tint was put on the next day after we got it. I also put on a hood deflector from AVS. The slim fit stick on deflector.

I added BFGOODRICH Trail Terrain 235/65R17 at 500 miles, I also added a bed mat and tailgate protector.

I added a Softopper folding camper shell around 29,000 miles.

I also put two cubbies in the bedside for storage.

I guess I have done a lot to the truck. Well overall I'm pretty darn happy with the MPG, performance, value and experience.

I would do it again. I have hold a few hiccups and bumps in the road, we had parts that needed to be replaced that were on back order like no other. I had software glitches, recalls, and still waiting on the underhood fire recall. I had An axle issue on both sides and we're still happy.

The ECVT is doing some strange things shifting and while stopping currently. It feels like its stumbles or a hesitation feeling while increasing speed and stopping. I had the issue looked at so far, no codes and my trans was reset Friday 11/3 so let's see if anything changes.

I do everything in the truck, camp ๐Ÿ•, commute, road trip, run errands, dump runs, fun runs, off road as much as the FWD Hybrid will let me, and really just use the truck.

๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ good job Ford, still need a bit of honing but at 40K โž•๏ธ and a year my overall percentage is 83.55% I believe that is conservative and fair.

Forgot the most important thing MPG. I have averaged 30 to 31 on the regular. My wife has averaged 38 to 42 when she drives. I have averaged 31.5 MPGs for my 40150 miles. 29K Highway miles, 5k miles off roading or unpaved road. 4.1K Towing, 2K snow driving.

This is 1 of 3 Mavericks I have owned. 2 was a TREMOR XLT 9475 miles put on and 3 our new one is a TREMOR XLT.

Thanks for stopping ๐Ÿ‘‹ by.

Is that Joshua Tree? Very cool soft camper shell, never seen one before.

I thought so, family always camps at Indian Cove. Less crowded than the campsites inside the park.

Great Pics!

Happy to hear the your experiences on the 22 hybrid, I too received mines on 10/22 only have 13k miles but I have ZERO complaints! Itโ€™s also impressive that youโ€™ve been able to acquire two additional mavericks with minimal delays.

Thanks for your candid review and great photos. But I have to say, it's a little worrying to me that you've had axle, software and EVCT issues. I expect a new vehicle to be good to go for many miles. I've been driving a Subaru Outback for 10 years and it has needed nothing but oil changes. The last thing I want is time wasted going back and forth to the dealer.

I do feel you on that, but I think the bean counters have effected all brands currently. And covid didn't help anything. I'm in it for the long haul looking forward to our next mile stone.

It's just the nature of the business now days unfortunately. Early year model adopters are essentially beta testers.

That, and it's hard to believe a vehicle 10 years old has "needed nothing but oil changes" lol. Sounds like some fluid services have been neglected lol...

Great review. You are doing what should be done to a truck - using it and driving it. Yes, nearly all vehicles have issues, some minor and some major, but that's what warranties are for. I guess it must be nice that some people spend $30K on a truck, park it in the garage and drive it 3K miles all year. I never have been that lucky, but again, I do not need a vehicle to just look at. I need one to use. I know it is an apple/orange thing, but how do you like the Tremor vs the Hybrid?

I can't get over the 40,000 miles in one year part. Even when I didn't work from home, that would take me 3 years...

How many miles on your Outback? 150k miles seems to be their "sell by" date. My '13 @ 205k miles has had major and minor repairs to the tune of $9-10k in the past 15 months. I love the car, but if I knew back in 9/22 when I ordered my Maverick (to be made this month Ford says) that the Subie was going to need this much love I would have punted on the Mav and gone with the CR-V hybrid. Don't get me wrong, I love my Outback (obviou$ly), but it's been needier than anything I've owned before (European cars excepted). Subaru's sweet spot seems to be the Forrester, still rocking a J-VIN. I doubt there's an assembly difference between Indiana and Japan, but I'd definitely believe there's a componentry difference.
