Price for Hitch Install by Dealer?

Recently got my Ford Maverick Hybrid and due to constraints I decided to remove the tow hitch.
When I asked if they could install a hitch for me with the wiring they quoted me $1600. That seems like a very ridiculous price. Has anyone had a tow hitch installed on their hybrid and if so around how much did you end up paying?

On my 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid I didn't get the hitch and when I decided I really wanted the hitch I ran into the same high costs for a properly done trailer hitch with 4-pin trailer brake connector.

There are aftermarket hitches but most don't properly integrate well or at all with the trailer hitch electrical wiring (trailer brake controller).

So I placed an order for a 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid and waited about a year for delivery.
I never considered removing the hitch as that is exactly what I wanted.
I already had the 2022 without the hitch.

I was able to sell my 2022 to Carvana for $31,404 and the new 2023 only cost $28,341 total out the door.

In effect I got the trailer hitch on the 2023 and $3,063 in cash to spend on other accessories/mods.

Add the hitch yourself or have someone handy do it.

The dealership will always be most costly. Expect $200-$250 for a hitch, $50 for wiring 4 pin only, $250 for 7 pin with brake control.

So you are $250 to $500 on parts.
The rest; labor.

Miguel, Did the same thing with my 2023 Lariat. Took it up to East Coast Auto Sport in St Marys, GA from my home in Fernandina Beach, FL. They installed a Curt Trailer hitch with wiring for $387.00. Haven't tested it out yet, but have no reason to expect anything amiss. They have installed a bedrug and truxedo lo pro bed cover for me as well, and everything is working great. Good luck. Tom

I got the hitch and wiring harness through Ford, using my accumulated points, but had it installed at a local business (recommended by the dealer). They charged me $150. I thought that was a very reasonable price.

always been a fan of etrailers.com products. bought several hitches and such from them; always pleased. high quality stuff. just checked: $300 for a Class III hitch (bolt on) and $80 for a 4-pin wiring kit. easy install.

Order Ford hitch, Hybrid delivered without. Used points to purchase Ford hitch. Watched a couple YouTube videos installed my self in 3 hours. Not a bad job at all, no issues
