ZERO complaints about the Silvers. They're an AMAZING product.

My desire to go back to Eibach's is for several reasons, in no particular order:
1. I'm really happy with how my wheels look on the truck and don't have a desire to go to 20's or larger. That also somewhat dictates my sidewall height, as we lowered guys know that fender gap (or lack thereof!) is a big key in how the truck looks.
2. Because I don't want to go to a smaller side wall I have lots of rubbing of tires on the inner fender, despite having cut away all interfering plastics. Rubber on steel stuff. There is no noticeable wear on any part of the tires, but turning and hitting bumps often results in a SKKRRRRTTTT.
3. Coilovers tend to be a little noisy and the "rattle" drives me nuts. I think this is the valving in the shocks that causes this, not sure.
4. Yes, I can lift the truck to avoid ALL of these issues but at that point why do I have an $1800 suspension system when the same height can be achieved with $300 Eibachs? The Silver's do ride nice (firm, like performance suspension should) and I'm more than happy to have a performance ride to get low, but there's no reason to have a performance ride if I"m 1.5" higher than I currently am. I don't track the truck, it's just a hybrid.
5. Smaller tires? Yes, but then I need to go lower yet to lose fender gap, and back to rubbing.
6. My fiancee is terrified to drive (or ride) in the Maverick because of the rubbing. She will be driving it fairly regularly.

So yeah, Eibach's make sense at this point. Silver's will be available for adoption soon if anyone is interested.
Super duper interested!

Eric - in light of your issues/complaints, can you share some additional info on your set up?
* What brand and size tires are you running?
* How many clicks (firmness) do you have set front/rear?
* Do you know what camber ended up at in the front?
* I can see you have Escape wheels so I won't ask you about width/offset. I recently bought a set and they're 19x8 with 52mm offset.

I think that knowing this info will help with set up on the Silvers, not just for me but I'm sure for others as well. I recently installed mine, but I'm not yet on my preferred wheels/tires, and I have yet to try the different firmness settings. Want to slowly adjust it to be lower as well to get it dialed in and find the happy point (lowest with minimal issues). I did have some initial noise similar to what you'd mentioned, but I was able to get rid of it by re-torquing everything and confirming proper preload on all 4 corners.

Ya, I know them lightly and they know me and my car. From our mutual friend Greg (who passed) and Nick, (he's a buddy of mine with a Speedtech sponsored 2nd gen). Blake and I spent an afternoon together at the Pleasanton GG show and they, the whole big rig team, fixed a tire for me at Texas motor speed way. I'm loyal to them on this stuff, great group of guys. They also lightly sponsor Alan, as he primarily builds 70 Chevelles (I think he's on #3 or 4 at this point)

I didn't do any swaybar mods at all. This is my daily driver and I'll put about 30K miles a year on it. I don't track it, but it's certainly track worthy with the coilovers and some minor suspension tuning.

I've had Eibach's on a few cars and they're always well engineered, but they're never low enough for my tastes.

I think I know the Alan you're talking about. It's a small but tightly knit car community here. Roger, Blake and Jay have all become great friends of mine. If I were into performance cars they'd be my go-to guys for suspension, no doubt. I'm much more into traditional hot rods and customs, but I'd love to build a full pro-touring car soon. I just need to find the right car! Secretly, I've wanted a 1st gen Vega wagon to build a full pro-touring car from. Full cage, usable, comfortable interior, nasty LS and a six speed manual.

Tires are GoodYear Assurance 235/55R19. They were a Facebook marketplace find that I grabbed for cheap because I wasn't certain they'd be the right size. I'm actually very happy with them, but again they're too tall for how low I am. They were $200 for all 4 with about 1000 miles on them.

Shock settings: I'll check this later today for you. I know I set them firm and backed them down until I was happy. I want to say they're both in the middle range.

Camber: When my Silver's arrived they were set at maximum negative camber. I didn't change them, figured I'd let my alignment guy do it. He adjusted the maximum setting at the spindle to correct for camber and it was within 2 degrees. The Silver's do not like being adjusted under any amount of pressure. I'd recommend setting them to the max positive camber setting before installing them, then let your alignment guy adjust at the spindle. I didn't worry about 2 degrees because I was planning on new tires anyway, and figured I'd do it at that time.

Wheels: I know a few guys liked my Escape wheels and bought some I still haven't seen another Maverick with them on though. Post a pic when you have them mounted! :)

Thanks for the advice on the noise. It's time to go through and nut and bolt everything again so I'll check preload when I do it.

The time has come.

I'm going to begin with a few photos of where my "new" truck is today, then I'll tell the story.

This will also serve as my ongoing build thread as I continue to modify and drive my Maverick.

You may or may not have seen my other build, a Cactus Gray '23 Hybrid here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ets-lower-it-w-eibach-lowering-springs.25531/

Sadly, it ended abruptly May 19th when a lady in an oncoming lane turned left in front of me. She was cited, my truck was totalled.

Insert countless swear words here.

I sustained injuries to my ribs and lower back. Still getting treatment, still sore.

A great friend mentioned he was going to be trading his 1400 mile '23 Hybrid in on a new Bronco. I paid him what the dealership offered, flew to Florida and headed home to Utah.

Less than an hour into the trip I was rear ended. Yeah, seriously. Nicest gentleman you could ever hope to meet, but my NEW Maverick with less than 1500 miles took a hit.

The bumper was creased and scuffed, and smacked the bottom of the tailgate leaving scratches in the paint.

Insert more swear words.

The Highway Patrol came, filled out an accident report and I headed west again. The remainder of the 1800+ mile trip was largely uneventful, but man did I see some beautiful country!

I moved a few things from my totalled XL to this new Lariat like my @Realtruck F4X tonneau cover, the Bed Rug cargo mat, rear seat cover and a few other things. I had the windows tinted too.

But the BIG thing I was waiting for was the Silvers coilovers. I ordered shortly after I got this truck home and excitedly awaited delivery.

Color coordination is important. 😁

I tore right in and I can't begin to tell you what a QUALITY product Silvers makes! Wow! Excellent design and fabrication throughout!

If you've never done suspension work before I can imagine this could be a bit of a daunting task. There are no instructions but it's pretty self explanatory. Even with all of the suspension work I've done I got stuck on a silly thing and Silvers support was more than happy to help.

Y'all are going to ask the same question so let me answer it now - it rides nice. Firm, but nice. Not harsh, not hard, not bouncy, firm like a performance car which is exactly what a reputable coilover company SHOULD feel like. It actually rides similar to my HEMI Challenger with Super Track Pack.

It's a tradeoff that you may not be willing to make. My Eibachs on my Cactis Gray truck rode EXCELLENT, just like stock. They just weren't low enough for my liking and a compromise I was willing to make.

The ride quality is due largely to the work that Lawrence Giles put in with Silvers to nail down the correct spring rates! If you're considering Silvers ask for the "Lawrence Giles" @2016BoostedGreyGoose package. They'll know!

Also, this ISN'T the "low" package, it's the "standard" package. It's plenty low enough for me, although I need to start trimming my inner fender plastics because they rub.

I'm also going to go from my current 235/55R19's to 235/50R19's to minimize rubbing where I can. I may also go to 20's or 22's if I can find wheels I like more than the Escape wheels I had powder coated bronze. We'll see.

I still need to dial in the suspension a bit, maybe adjust ride height a touch, adjust dampening, etc. Once I'm happy with that I'll get the alignment done.

Here are a few photos of it lowered with the stock Lariat wheels.

Really glad I was able to save my Escape wheels from the Cactus Gray Maverick and that they weren't damaged. Really LOVING the bronze against the Hot Pepper Red.

Upcoming plans include moving some of my aftermarket stereo over and adapting it to the B&O, painting bumpers and side skirts Hot Pepper Red, adding fog lights and painting the grill bar.

More to come. 😊

I like it but my truck is too low for that
I'll let you know VERY soon how it fits on mine. 😉 It may be low but after driving slammed vehicles for 37 years I'll manage. Funny thing - my driveway entrance is the only place I drag currently, and that's only if I'm not paying attention.

On the A51 SEMA truck? Not sure. I looked at them but didn't really pay attention. It was in the Cooper tire booth and had all terrains. On. A. Lowered. Truck. Although it had a gorgeous blue and gray leather interior!

Oh, for inquiring minds I never received word back from the promise of "first commercially available front lip", even after multiple emails to the person who promised it.
