Not sure which thread posted this, but the letters in "FORD" could stand for " For Old Retired Dudes ". I'm one of those. Also, can women be referenced as "dudes", so they can be included?
I believe it is OK to refer to the ladies as "dudesses"!!!;)😃

I'm most likely the oldest on the forum at 79. I drove off the lot on 1/6/22 and have put on a whopping 1,800 miles so far. It's a wonderful truck and my only regret is it's come 20 years late for me!
Nope several 80+ and so far Lugan at 91.

Pretty sure it's Dudettes.

They don't know how old I am
They found armor in my belly
From the sixteenth century
Conquistador, I think...
Actually dud-ettes refer to small boxes of Milk Duds like we use to get at the movies for much less than $2 or 3$ like now............... ;) :D

I picked up a VW pickup 7 years ago and have been driving it since. I have done a lot to make it a suitable hauler for tools and lumber and stuff but you know what? I got my Maverick this weekend and getting out of the VW and into the Ford is like taking a trip in a rocketship instead of a canoe.

I loved the 40+ mpg the VW got and all the thumbs up for keeping it going all these years. but man, sitting in the seat, yeah the one with the heat on, is just so nice.

I took the misses out for a hike today and the place we went is about 25 miles away. I was able to drive for 17 miles of that on the electric side of the hybrid. My trip meter said 63 mpg. Wow, all done in 2023 with style and comfort. I love it.

I will be selling the other two pickups I have as this new Maverick is both capable of towing a small trailer and getting great mpg. Those were the reasons I had the VW and a 96 Ranger.

Hate to part with them but why pay for insurance on something you won't be driving?

When I am looking for drink servers on a cruise I call them drink dude/dudette.
so I think we could be called dudette to fit the bill.

I'm sure the next owners will love what you're passing down to them. Both of those trucks are somewhat collectible, and will be well cared for.

I'm 72 and a proud owner of a 2023 XLT Maverick. I bought a new 2003 Ford 4WD Ranger; drove it for over 20 years for 215,000 miles and sold it to a very happy new owner when I bought my Mav. Best truck I have ever owned. I have always had Ford trucks over the years and I am very happy with my new Maverick. At my age I have scaled down my need to haul heavy loads and the new Maverick is perfect for hauling my golf bag & beverage cooler.

I finally resolved the issue in my mind that I should post here even though I'm not a Maverick owner yet. I'm 68 and my Maverick should get here before I turn 69. I guess I'm having trouble believing that I'm getting up there. I know the aches and pains are there and the hair on the floor at my barbers is unbelievably mine, but... I still do most of my youthful enjoyments, so I guess I'm lucky, so far. Toys; no shortage. Boat, Seadoos, classic Vette and Fox body Mustang convertible. So far enjoying them and most of the maintenance they involve. Try to keep fit so I can continue keeping up with the house and everything else as long as I can. Looking forward to the Maverick, but it better not add undue requirements to my to do list!
