Hope I'm not missing something, but my 22 XLT Hybrid shows the current MPG when you turn it off, but will keep a running tally until you reset it. Sometimes I get unreal MPG for short trips(2 miles or less). Other times I'll get terrible mileage, especially in the morning. However, my running mileage for my previous 10,000mi was 41.1MPG before I reset it at my oil change. The last 1523mi I have averaged 42.7MPG. I must admit that I don't do a lot of interstate driving. On 2 lane highways I usually keep it at 55. Those trips of 60+ miles usually give me my best averages. Bottom line, I LOVE this truck, and accurate or not, I'm well pleased with my fuel economy!
I just found ECO mode…my first 191 mpg😂

Dude, this is it, you are so right... People texting, I see it all the time... I love hearing people say, "I dont have time to drive the speed limit" that right there is the problem.
People complain about the high price of fuel, but wont do anything about it to get MPG. Now, those who have the big lifted trucks, wont get much better MPG is they slowed down, but the other drivers will.

That is why I laugh when I drive past a gas station, I average about 3 weeks per tank.
My favorite is the person with a brand new $100,000 Mercedes with the phone to their head😂

Well, I must be some kind of idiot. I use ECO, I know how to use it, I drive the best way to get the best mpg..(slow even starts, etc) but ..well, I give up. 38- 41, hand calc, best I can get on a full tank.
Many things can come into play. If you start too slow you can hurt your mpg. Possibly by increasing your travel time and causing extra ice cycles to charge battery and run AC. Try finding a 40-50 mph limit road about 20-30 miles long set cruise at 40-45 mph push x or tap brake to disconnect cruise when necessary and resume cruise when possible. Consider this a training session and observe the power gage. You should be able to see up to 30-45% power usage which will drop within a few seconds to electric mode. Yes it's possible and fairly easy to get better mpg than cruise but cruise below 50 in curvy and hilly should yield 45-60mpg depending. If you do this drive the road in both directions as the slopes can cause a difference of 10-12+/-mpg difference in different directions. This will demonstrate how a faster acceleration is not necessarily bad within limits, of course. Good luck.

I have a 22 Hybrid and haven't reset the trip meter since I got it.
6.4l per 100km works out to ~37MPG which isn't surprising as Ford states to expect 37MPG combined.

This is real world driving (mostly road trips) and I am thrilled with it.

I just made the .8 mile trip home from the grocery store, all flat, one stop sign and the trip read "all electric." Theoretically, I just hit infinite mpg 🤣

A lot of yacking about what the MPG the hybrid is getting, me, I like the MPG I get. For the 3000 miles I have driven so far it has averaged around 40 to 42 overall. At times the in-town mileage is extremely better but that is not the norm. Overall, it is a lot better than what my old truck got, 16 in town and 22 on the road. Wouldn't change vehicles.

Keep doing what you are doing. I do the same.

A few of us high milage drivers have found the trip meters hold about 2500 miles (~4000km) worth of fuel use data. Then the oldest data is overwritten.

So when your truck gets older, this will show you a recent, moving average. Not the total since purchase. So keep those records manually, if you wish.

Makes sense. The number does change more frequently than a "lifetime" number would. I don't drive all that frequently and the fuel cost for something that gets 30+MPG is pretty negligible for my little driving so it is just a curiosity.

I did run a bit of an experiment the last couple of days. I had to drive ~350km across Germany one day and then drive the same route back the next day. On the way over, I set the cruise at 150km/hr (93mph) where it was allowed by road conditions, traffic, etc.

On the way back, I set the cruise at 130km/hr (81mph) where I could go that.

There were a lot of construction zones (80kmh) and speed restricted zones (either 100kmh or 120kmh) which both boost the numbers but they were similar on each drive. 11min difference and 11% difference in fuel consumption.

Two months to the day with my ‘23 Lariat Hybrid and I am tickled pink! One round trip (908 miles) and 1 one way trip from FL to SC. The rest was mostly rural. As someone mentioned the electric mileage on the ’23 seems to be more than my ‘22. I reset my Trip 1 when I took delivery in July, hence the difference in miles.

I saw that on the window sticker but I think my mileage is better. It might be that I am shifting between eco mode on flat terrain and slippery in the hills/mountains which I didn’t do in my ‘22. Whatever, I’m pretty darn happy!

It matters more what state your mind is in, vs. what state your truck is in.
