so I read all these posts and I just figure you all can give me the real truth on time frame of the 2024's.
I understand that the strike will change things so my questions would be based on no strike.

When does the 2024 Lariat Maverick begin production ? Oct?

What is the reality of a time line for a person who orders Today ?

What does the priority number really do ? I know retail is 19 plus but what if a dealer can get it to a 10 or even a 3 ? are those lower numbers really jump you Infront of others. ?

can a person really get a new 2024 built in a reasonable amount of time or is this just a dream?

Thank you all who answer my questions

You know it's going to be at least after November because Ford already scheduled those builds.

1. I know Ford is making Lariat Hybrids in October and November since I have read people that have production dates in Nov and I have a production date for Oct 23rd week.

2. No idea, many factors that heavily depend on your dealer

3. Priority is your priority for THAT dealership, not national priority.

4. Mine is being built in a reasonable amount of time, so.... yes?

For '24 model year, dealers were told ahead of time how many mavericks they were going to get, and it's broken down by at least ecoboost vs hybrid, and I think down to XL/XLT/Lariat even. You can reach out to dealers around your area to see if they have any allocations available.

At this point, you'll have a much easier time getting an Ecoboost vs a Hybrid, and I'm guessing a higher trim is going to also be easier to get too. Likely depends on your area though.

When did you order yours? and can you explain what you mean by it depends on the dealer ?

Thank you

what trucks get built for what dealer is a complex process having to do with regional and dealer allocations (how many vehicles Ford has decided the region and dealer will get). High volume dealers definitely get more allocations. The order priority is only for use among the trucks a dealer has on order. You should consider the allocation process a black box subject to dice rolls.

Each dealer has a set amount of allocations. Some dealers over ordered Mavericks for '22 and '23 and now still have a large list of people "in line" for a Maverick for '24. Those dealers likely won't be able to order more Mavericks, but some won't tell you they don't have any more allocations.

You will have to find a dealer that still has open slots for vehicles to order and then pray Ford decides to build your specific build, sooner rather than later. I was incredibly surprised when I received my email that mine was going to get built.

When did you order yours? and can you explain what you mean by it depends on the dealer ?

Thank you

Thanks for this info.

I orders a 2024 ecoboost Lariat on Sept 4th and the dealer put the priority code as a 3.

The real production of 24s begins October 1-5. Even if you have a 10 priority, how long it's going to take depends on the options. I ordered, under a 10 priority, a fully hyper-loaded Lariat hybrid in September of 22 (first day of ordering). When I say fully loaded, I mean every single option from trifold to sunroof, even the film on the front hood and fenders...every single item you could check. It was just built this last two weeks, where last week it left the factory to a "Ford after-shop" for the film and the trifold. The factory is shut this week for retooling and goes back up in a week. So that's 53 weeks. Likely, if you order an XLT hybrid with a few options, it will be 4-6 months, 4 cylinder, maybe 3-5. Order anything out of the ordinary, more time. Just the facts. Not happy about getting a 23 at the last week of the model year (I would never have taken delivery at the end of year with another vehicle because of the depreciation) but I didn't pay over list, prices are higher for the 24 and with no depreciation. I got what I wanted, wasn't pressed to have to get another vehicle, so was O.K. to wait.

High volume dealers definitely get more allocations.
But, of course, by virtue of being a high volume dealer they likely have more orders as well. It kind of gives you an advantage if your configuration is a highly buildable one (a Lariat EcoBoost without any particularly constrained options probably has good odds), but otherwise as long as you aren't ordering from an absolutely podunk dealership who might get 1 allocation a month it's mostly kind of even odds.

I ordered a fully loaded 2023 Hybrid Lariat in September of 2022 - 1st day of ordering as well. Received email 30 June 2023 to contact my dealer on 17 July and submit a 2024 Maverick order which I did. Took the opportunity to update order since my "Area 51" color was no longer available. Changed color to CARBONIZED GRAY METALLIC and updated with new black appearance package. Received email on Wednesday 20 September 2023 at 6:45PM EST that my "2024" Maverick Lariat has been scheduled for build the week of 6 November 2023.

Interesting. It's like there is no rhyme or reason. All the way up to 9-1-23, I was thinking I wasn't going to make this year, called the dealer and wrote an order for the 24, but then 9-10 I was in production with the 23. Who knows how they do this?.
