What's the least expensive tonneau cover y'all have seen?

I've never owned a truck and realized how often I leave valuables back there and need to protect them from the weather 😅

Going with the least expensive in truck tonneau covers,at least in my experience will leave you disappointed. I prefer hard top with adjustable opening and lockable. Stays dry(even in rain and snow. Nothing ever stolen. My favorite brand is the LSII cover by A.R.E.

If I end up with a Maverick, I will get another Extang Trifecta Signature series. Had one on both my F150's, very happy with them. Not cheap tho, at ~$450.

I like a hard, locking cover and think this would fill the bill. Not cheap, but less than Ford's offerrings - https://rb.gy/htplu6

Plywood and fence hinges. Kept my tools secure for a few years.
Run about $50 in the end

Very interesting. When to the Auto Anything site and now all the ads are for them.

I’ve never owned a truck. Do all tonneau require you to open the tailgate to release it? Im worried about keeping the items safe from theft. I have an XLT scheduled with the electronic tailgate lock.

No. At the very least, I've seen hard trifolds where the tonneau had its own locking and opening mechanism.

Had a $250 cover on my ‘03 ram 1500 for 10 years . Stayed good looking and never leaked a drop of water. Kept my golf clubs in the bed.

Least expensive in the short term may be the most expensive in the long term. Soft covers crap out and may not fit when velcro or snaps or whatever wear out - then it's no good for weather. Got snow? cheap and soft won't cut it.
Valuables? better be a locking hard cover as a soft cover is worthless for safety.
Extang Exceed trifold for me. Big splurge at $849, but a lot cheaper than OEM (and hopefully better) - my Mav is just a base XL hybrid with a receiver hitch so I've saved the $ for what mattered to me - long term out of the weather and safe.
And yes you open the tailgate to unlock.

Give it a few months and there should be soft tri fold options on Amazon for $250-$300. I mainly want a cover to keep things from flying out of the bed as well as some weather protection.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I wanted to know. How difficult is installation? I can build IKEA stuff, but not much beyond that.

Considering that there is an initial demand of 100,000+ orders for the Maverick, I can see the demand increase once the trucks get delivered. With that the owners will go shopping to accessorize their trucks. It is still early to buy accessories. The aftermarket vendors will be cranking up faster than the Mexico assembly line.
