Remove the splash guards and tonneau. Exhausted after one week should give you an indication how much that hurts your ability to get scheduled.

And what’s crazy is that all of that is available in the aftermarket. My advice: if you can get it elsewhere, don’t put it on your order. The only advantage to having small accessories on your order is that you can then finance that cost.

i just called my rep to remove the splash guards after seeing this

Easy accessory to add later on. I just didnt think they'd be short after a week of scheduling MY24

update: dealer said ford odering system wont let him remove . Told me im priority code 2 which i already knew

They were short for nearly all of 23 as well.

If it helps, exhausted availability means they won't be scheduling any with splash guards for clean-up week. They should be available again next month. But I still recommend those not at Priority 2 to go ahead and remove them.

Just had the mudflaps pulled off of my MY2024 order... When I placed the Order July 17, salesman swore they weren't going to be an issue.. Now I see it being a commodity constraint for the first two scheduling cycles of mY2024 already..

A user on this site just had his truck scheduled... everything absolutely identical to mine sans the mud flaps... both new orders (not roll overs), both at very high priorities at dealers with sufficent allocations.

I suspect it may have been the mudflaps for me.. who knows? but why take the chance..

Is it a suppy problem or a labor issue to install them?
Probably the latter. They aren't installed during the normal assembly and have to moved to another part of the factory to be added on. Given I installed my own in less than ten minutes in my driveway, it isn't worth it to have them factory installed.

I asked the rep again. He said manager said system won’t let him remove the splash guard. Who am I to argue. I guess No scheduling for me anytime soon

I wonder what it would have felt like to get your truck scheduled after only a couple of months? Man are they lucky.

I am proof that if you listen to this advice your order has a better chance of getting through the system.

I ordered XLT, AWD, Tow, Lux, Azure gray, soft cover and splash guards on 7/17/23 like lots of others I'm sure. commadorebob was kind enough to warn me about the cover and splash guards, so I did a fair amount of investigative work and learned this was good advice.

Next I contacted sales mgr. who handled my order and asked her about the situation ( I used screen captures to augment my inquiry to her) She assured me that it wouldn't be a problem as those were last years (23 model) and for next years they weren't short. So I gathered the next two weeks of data and emailed her again showing the supply had worsened. I then strongly suggested that she remove both items ( by now it is mid-Aug.) as she really would not want an irate customer if this held up the order for weeks/months/years.

So on the 24th I sent her another email saying that I was seeing lots of people with 24 orders saying their trucks were being scheduled. I asked if I was still behind the 20 holdovers from last year since I was first for 24s. Two days later on the 26th I get an email from her saying I have a 10/23/23 build date. Now I'm really surprised and checking things out.

Never trust a sales person to "assist" you other than entering the order for you. After all you get paper/electronic documents that you can verify the order yourself. BTW my brother is a sales agent and I learned by watching and listening to him - they want the order and will try to keep everything that earns them money in your order period. Watch out for yourself always.

The ten minutes probably included the tonneau as well. Both were super simple.

Now, only the XL is constrained on my order! It's been a long 11 plus months! I will not remove the XL. Good luck to everyone!
