I ride my bicycle to work and my current ride is a 2004 Chevy Silverado with 98000 miles on it. I plan to continue to ride to work and will only be driving my Maverick (currently in production) on weekends. Hope this doesn't cause problems.

Another Lariat advantage. I just touch the top of the door handle to lock it, and there is no extra effort to unlock it by sticking my fingers into the handle. I am still annoyed at having to fish the fob out of my pocket to unlock the tailgate...or walk the extra distance to touch the handle and walk back to the tailgate.
The wife took the lariat to Colorado cabin to fight the 72°F heat wave at 93xx feet so I'll have to wait until next week to check the door handle tap. Can you double tap handle top to perform like the two push horn honk lock on the fob does?

I would consider putting a permanent mount maintainer on the 12v so it can rest at 100% most of time. Should triple or quadruple life of 12v. Being a new truck, I would consider having dealer do it but would give them opportunity. ($$$?)

Not sure what you are referring to. This is how I lock my Lariat:

i too have a Lariat and enjoy the simple 'touch to lock/unlock' feature. may i suggest once you touch to unlock u then press 3/4 on the keyless entry keypad and all doors + the tailgate should unlock for you without having to dig out the keyfob if im not mistaken.

Those that hook up a trickle charger. Do you actually put it on the battery or do you hook it to the posts under the hood?

Not sure what you are referring to. This is how I lock my Lariat:

Manual only refers to the double lock button push as arming the anti theft alarm which has its own battery (rechargable I presume??) and turns off some sensors (this explains why the delay off of dash lights, exterior convenience lighting, etc is advanced when double lock is done). Anti theft is not on all trucks. It can only be activated if installed on a truck by the remote fob and horn honks after second push. If tripped due to which sensors have been selected in settings the alarm sounds for 30 seconds and lights flash for 5 minutes. And notifies you. It did not say how. Who knows how many constrained items this option added to some builds.

Also for those that have keyless entry keypad you can lock all with it if you do not have the one touch lock on handle.

Simply touching either front handle unlocks my tailgate. May have been some default setting, as I didn't change anything. I don't have to press anything on the fob or keypad.

I always find myself walking up to the locked tailgate and then having to decide what to do:
Dig out the keyfob and hit the unlock button
....OR...
Walk to a front door and touch a handle and then walk back to the tailgate.

First world problems.

Retired here also.
Average 60 miles a week since being driven off dealer lot Oct. 2022. Has 2260 miles on it.
Truck goes into sleep mode, just have to use the key fob to unlock, everything else works fine.
If I drive it far enough, won't need the key fob to unlock or lock it (Lariat hybrid), but plan on getting the TSB for sleep mode in Oct. when I take it in for oil change. Most of my trips are less than 10 miles, maybe once a month take 30 mile round trip to Costco.

I live in Northern Cali where there is no hard freeze. I have a 22 XLT hybrid and drove it round trip cross country last summer, yet now rarely drive it. 12v battery went dead some months ago, so now I use a harbor freight cheapo ($9.99 list) battery maintainer....since truck is garaged near an electric outlet. Truck not driven now since February. Original 12v battery now just fine, yet I wonder about long term unuse of lilon battery ?

If HVB SOC drops below 20% or some ?% dealer will have to put it on a HV charger. 0% may be death??? Manual says to drive it at least monthly for at least 15 minutes, if I remember correctly. There is a storage procedure in the manual.

ok, i get it now. what you envision i think is a similar touch to lock/unlock sensor on the tailgate like there is on the front doors. could be handy for those who are frequently having to access the bed. for what its worth i personally go days at a time without needing to get into the truck bed so not really a big deal for me.

I had a neighbor who traded every year or two when he got 70-80K miles so he didn't ever change oil or do anything!
That man is EVIL!
No respect for good machinery.
