Keep in mind that RA will charge shipping and handling. Search around using the part number on Google and if you have to, do like I do and buy multiple at one time to make shipping worth it.

Local places around me charge way too much as well, so this is how I get around it. Amazon has it as well but it's $20. Cheapest shipping I see with my address from RA is 5.99, so it's essentially the same price plus or minus a couple dollars.

Most filters these days are impingement type air filters. When air flows thru the filter it has to turn corners to get thru the filter medium and when it does the particles in the air go straight ahead from centrifugal force and impinge on the filter material hence the name. If you take an air hose and blow the filter backwards you can extend it's life. I'm not saying to do this it's just a suggestion and is up to the individual, I 've had some experience in filter testing
