Sorry in advance....I have read so many threads trying to find my exact answer and I just gave up. I just purchased some XLT take off wheels for my XL.......all I need to know is can I just use my current OEM lug nuts from the steelies for the new XLT wheels. Also.....does the torque rating destroy these lugs ar can they handle it. I appreciate any replies.......I will include a pic of the XLT wheels so there is no confusion.

Well that puts me back to the starting line again. I am hoping someone can give me a definitive answer before I break out the tools and the jack and go for it.

Are those the wheels/tires I sold last year to the Gentlemen in Chantilly?

To answer your question, zero differences, bolt them on and go..

I work on Lee Road in Chantilly...

Well the irony is that yes I do live in Chantilly but I just purchased these today from a gent that lived near Kings Dominion. Ok I am hearing more votes for slap em on.......man o man thats the answer that I am hoping for. I do like the thought of new one piece lugs but my wallet is still thin from todays hunt.

Call a dealer and see if they use the same part number lug nut. My Fx4 has a steel wheel spare so I’m thinking your probably good with your originals. Oh and congratulations on only getting the best looking Maverick wheels ever!

Ha! Ya I feel like I got lucky. They still have tpms sensors so I assume my truck will recognize them like nothing ever happened. I really was gunna rock the steelies but after looking at my mock up.....Im like......what was I thinking! I paid a hefty price but the price will be offset by the sale of the steelies. Looks like steelies with Conti's are selling for high side $550 to low side $400.

Yeah on second thought, I guess if anything the steelies would have a deeper threaded lug than alloy IF they were different part numbers.

Enjoy

Haven't seen both to compare, but given that the steelies have a cap over the lugs, I'm guessing they are an open-ended lug vs. the alloy wheels that have a closed-ended lug (looks better because exposed). If that's the case, you will probably be disappointed in the looks of an open lug on alloy wheels.

With that said, they are probably compatible. Ford has been using an "acorn bulge" style for a long time - if you pull one of your lugs off and Google search for that you should be able to compare and tell what you have. Also, if they are open-end, you won't have to worry about length, as any extra stud will poke out (though I'm pretty certain it wouldn't be an issue). But if you aren't sure, it might be worth just getting the better lugs since you are really after the better look anyway...

They should work fine, but I don’t think you’ll like the appearance of them? I don’t believe the xl nuts are closed ended or capped in shiney chrome either? But you could put them on & change the lugs out lateršŸ˜‰

I have put XLT wheels on two different XL Mavericks. You will want to get new lug nuts, as the XL lug nuts have a large diameter to them made to hold on the plastic center cap. I bought black lug nuts and it looks great. No changes to the TPMS system are needed.
