Part of the anxiety for those who have a late MY23 scheduled build date is two fold:

#1 In MY22 there were a number of those who had a scheduled build date that didn't get built as a MY22

#2 Fords questionable wording in their last Ford Update Letter.

Note these two sections:

  • On Jul‍y 1‍7, contact your existing dealer that has your 2023 Maverick order to review the 2024 Maverick vehicle offering and submit a 2024 Maverick order. You will still have your 2023 Maverick order within the order bank. If your order is part of the group that is not produced as a 2023 model year, Ford will prioritize your 2024 model year in the build so that you receive your vehicle faster. Additionally, Ford will provide you with an incentive, through your dealer, to offset any non‑equipment related price increases.

  • If your 2023 Maverick order is scheduled between Jul‍y 1‍7 and Octo‍ber 3‍1, we will work with your dealer to remove the 2024 order from our system. Your 2023 Maverick truck order remains a priority, and we’ll continue to update you as we hear more.
So in the first section Ford states that if you do not get PRODUCED in 2023 they will prioritize your 2024 order.

Then in the next section Ford states they will remove your 2024 order if you get a scheduled build date.

I have a scheduled build data of September 4, 2023 should I be concerned by Ford's doublespeak and put in a MY24 order to CMA.

Others on this forum are also concerned.

@fordvideoguy do you see any concern in the Ford Update letter for those who have or get a scheduled build date in September/October.

I take it as if you have an unscheduled MY23 order at the time the order bank opens you need to reorder a MY24. If that MY23 happens to gets scheduled date between the order bank opening and the end of MY23 you won't need the MY24 order anymore and it will be cancelled. I'm not Ford and I know what happened last year but I think they intend to build all scheduled MY23s. Btw I'm scheduled the week after you of Sept 11th.

Then why did Ford say "Produced" in this paragraph and not scheduled to be built:

Ford: On Jul‍y 1‍7, contact your existing dealer that has your 2023 Maverick order to review the 2024 Maverick vehicle offering and submit a 2024 Maverick order. I asked my dealer to submit a MY24 order for me even though I have a MY23 build date of 9/4/2023 as I cannot trust that Ford won't do the same as last year and cancel orders that have a build date.

I doubt Tim will respond soon. He has been gone most of last week, getting back yesterday. Now he and the other LM managers are entering Super Duty orders and in a few minutes Maverick orders. They have a lot of them to enter.

But you can be "not produced" even with a scheduled build date.

See those late MY22 orders with scheduled build dates that got canceled.

I'm aware of what happened last year. I think that email clearly states if your scheduled they would work with your dealer to remove the MY24 order, so I don't think putting a new order in with the same code would do anything. I believe they intend to build all scheduled orders. I'm not Ford and maybe I'm giving them too much credit. Just my opinion.

Intend is the key word here.

Yes Ford is intending to build all the MY23 orders that get a scheduled build date much like they intended to build all the MY22 orders that got a scheduled build date.

However as late MY22 order holders learned what Ford intends may not happen.

And with the doublespeak Ford said in the Update Letter:

Ford: On Jul‍y 1‍7, contact your existing dealer that has your 2023 Maverick order to review the 2024 Maverick vehicle offering and submit a 2024 Maverick order. You will still have your 2023 Maverick order within the order bank. I am not putting my trust with what "Ford Intends" and had my dealer place a MY24 order to CMA in case what Ford Intends doesn't happen again.

No concern, if you have a vin don't need to put in a 24MY order. We did see some 22MY orders get canceled but not before Ford placed their 23MY order for the dealer and after the order was confirmed given highest priority and was scheduled on the next month allocation and dealer received the extra allocation for them. Same would happen this year IF it were to happen.
