Well, my hybrid was good this time from May 17th till today. Last time, I could at least unlock the doors and the truck would at least throw a bunch of dashboard error messages when attempting to start it (even if it had no overhead lights). This time, I have to use the physical key to unlock the door and see nothing on the dashboard. The most life the vehicle shows is that tiny indicator for the headlight dial blinking a few times when trying to start it. Last time, the dealer claimed it was a defective 12v battery (and they did a "tug test" claiming the cable was fine)…what issue will it be this time?

The truck was already scheduled in for the battery cable replacement next Wednesday...now I guess it will have to be towed there....again. This is getting to be incredibly frustrating. I absolutely love this vehicle - when it works - but Ford needs to take correcting these issues a lot more seriously. I've always liked Ford, but I'm getting to the point of seriously considering selling my Maverick and moving on to another automaker.

Picked the truck up today. Told them to call me when the part came in.
Ridiculous they had me even bring it in knowing they needed to order the part.
Yeah I hate playing the stealership game

Got my vehicle back today. The dealership installed the new wire harness/battery cable and apparently, that did it - everything went back to working perfectly fine again. Here's hoping that's the last of these problems, because the truck has been great otherwise.

Brought the letter to a Ford dealer close to me and they told me it would have to break before they can replace. They said if they send a good cable to Ford they would not get reimbursed. The letter says Ford is authorizing the replacement. Looks like I have to try another dealer. I bought my car out of state. Should I be able to bring to any dealer that is closer to me or do I have to bring it to where I bought it. Appreciate it if anyone has had a similar experience and if they brought it to a different Ford dealer than where they bought it

YOUR DEALERSHIP IS WRONG: I am a Ford technician and here is the literature as written that we receive, available to any Ford service department in the country through what is called the PTS website : "SERVICE ACTION Before demonstrating or delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this program, dealers are to install a new 12V battery cable overlay and disable the current battery cable. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner. " as you can see, the last sentence in the statement clearly says it must be performed on ALL affected vehicles. Furthermore, if you have already received your owner notification letter, it also states " In the interest of customer satisfaction, Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to install a new 12V battery cable overlay free of charge (parts and labor) under the terms of this program. This Customer Satisfaction Program will be in effect until June 30, 2024 regardless of mileage. Coverage is automatically transferred to subsequent owners." **** this is not a recall that will stay open until performed, as also stated above, Ford will replace this cable once for free up until June 30, 2024 for any vehicle affected under this program. That list of affected vehicles includes Maverick built from July 26th, 2021 up to May 13, 2022. If you have any further problem with your dealership not wanting to perform this for you, message me and I will send you this official documentation so you can show them before you shove it up their tailpipe lol
Ran into this at my dealer, they won't replace unless it is broken. Even showed the letter saying Ford is covering the cost. I guess I will go on a dealer quest to see who knows how to read

Took mine in last week, after scheduling the appointment a week before and asking if they would order the part. After 3 days I called, and they said mine needed replaced, and they just ordered the part.

As others have posted, the recall/CSP says to REPLACE the wiring, not inspect it and see if it needs replaced.

I have doubts they even looked at it, as I was having no problems. Regardless, I picked my truck up and told them to call me when the part comes in. I'll see how that goes, or go to another dealer.

Yeah, that stinks. I’ve decided to have it done, along with the air bag recall and reprogramming of the brakes. Parts will be in by end of week.
..
My dealer is coming to my house Tuesday 7/18 to pickup my lariat first edition for the air bag and harness overlay recalls.

Exactly it says to install a new cable, not to wait till it breaks. Just getting oil changed here and try to find a dealer that can read

Honestly, they probably just don't want to do it, because it will take more time than Ford is going to pay them!

You can take it to any Ford Dealer, but your selling dealer may be most willing to work with you to get the FSA done.

It is not true that the cable needs to be bad to be replaced. You are correct. This is a customer satisfaction FSA. There are some "extended coverage" recalls where there does need to be a problem before the recall is performed, this is not one of them.

If your build date is within the window the dealer does not have to even remove the existing cable just install "the overlay cable"!!!!

Would love to bring it to my selling dealer but bought it out of order

Update, after telling me they wouldn't do it, I guess they looked into it and will order a cable. What a friggin pain just to get through their head and to read the letter. They wanted to throw me out because I was getting a bit angry and not do the oil change I scheduled because they didn't want a bad review! I told them what kind of review you expect if you throw me out! I was not loud or anything like that, but so tired of people that even when you spell it out to them , they still will not do what it said to do per Ford.

I dropped off my Hybrid Lariat at my dealer for the wiring repair Monday morning. The truck was ready for pickup on Wednesday morning. My invoice showed they billed Ford for 2.2 hours labor and $672.00 in parts. They did not charge the battery before I picked it up and I have only driven it 20 miles. Ford Pass still shows it to be in deep sleep mode. I will be taking a 40 mile drive on Sunday and hopefully that will wake it up.

I brought mine in this past TU and picked it up the next day. They did the air bag recall, new 12v cable overlay, and reprogrammed the several modules to address the grabby brakes.

All is well, though I never had any problems to begin with, other than the sometimes grabby brakes. So far the feel at the brake pedal is improved and the grabbiness seems to be gone. I hope it stays that way.

Good luck with yours.
