For future reference, I ordered the following to upgrade my B&O stereo system:

Infinity REF-6532IX 6.5" for front doors.
Infinity REF-6432CFX 4x6" for C pillars.
Infinity REF-3032CFX 3.5" for center channel.
Twidec 50W 4 Ohm resistors for center channel

This is not an endorsement for any of these parts (yet), just a list of what I've ordered.

I pulled the amp, 10" Rockford Fosgate sub and custom box from my previous Maverick. I should be rocking next weekend.

Shop around, friends. I've always been super happy with the support from Crutchfield but I'm not throwing money at them for that purpose!

I fooled around with replacing the stock 6x9 hoping it would be enough to keep me from wanting a sub and could not find anything that fit back there. You'd need basically a low profile one to fit in that housing they used because the magnet is so small. That poor excuse for a bandpass box that opens up to the under carriage also cannot be closed without sacrificing sound quality. I put some sound dampening over it to test it and the 6x9 mid bass disappeared lol. Definitely pulling that setup to replace with a 10" sub under the seat. I almost thought about cutting up the plastic housing to test out fitment of another 6x9 I had but even then, the mounting depth would have been too much.

I may end up getting the same exact speakers you got for the rest. Thanks for sharing that! Any trouble with mounting depth or the brackets themselves? Or have you still not got to that project yet? I know the aftermarket brackets need slightly modified for the doors (cutting off some tabs) and that's a lot less than trying to repurpose the stock ones at least. I'm gonna follow along with your updates.

what a waste
Love you too!

If you like bass you'll never be happy with a 6x9 footprint. Ideally, I think an 8" sub would provide the best sound quality but I will sacrifice a little quality for a little more volume and low end.

Infinity speakers will be here in the next 2 days, but the resistor for the center channel won't arrive until Thursday. I hate doing things twice (do it right the first time) so I'll wait.

I'll post updates as I go, but I don't expect any difficulties installing these speakers. Obviously I don't mind cutting things up, LOL.

Learning lessons all the time, and this one is a bit embarassing.

A few nights ago I met a friend at my son's house. We left my Maverick there while we went hunting, and on return my Maverick would start but had a transmission/ shift error...

Ford Maverick Slammed on Silver's Coilovers (23 Hybrid Lariat) 20230722_053830

Big WTF moment, but at 5 AM I certainly wasn't going to wake up my son, his wife or their kids, so I fell asleep in the truck for a few hours.

We messed around with it a bit later in the morning, trying to see if we could get it into neutral and load it on my trailer so I could work on it at home, to no avail. The neutral switch inside the console is apparently only available for EcoBoost trucks. The hybrid "neutral tow mode" couldn't be selected either. Nor could I release the emergency brake.

After much thought and some research, I read on this forum that others have had a similar problem and their dealerships have replaced transmissions and harnesses to resolve this.

Looking around under the truck I spotted an area in the front wheel well where I had thought to myself several weeks ago, "I need to keep an eye on that."

Yeah, my front driver's side tire rubbed though my wiring harness. This is located just behind the headlight, but under the fender liner. Since I cut mine away the exposed wire was obvious.

Like I said, I'm embarrassed. I quickly spliced the three wires that sustained damage and started the truck... VIOLA! Everything works perfectly again.

I'm going to reroute this wiring harness in a more appropriate location, while checking everywhere else for potential issues.

This is just the territory we go into when modifying cars. We find problems, then solutions - hopefully solutions BEFORE problems occur.

No sweat, this is a minor setback but I wanted others to be aware that tire clearance can DEFINITELY be an issue. I need smaller diameter tires sooner than later.

Learn as you go, but try to learn from my mistakes! Have a great evening folks!

Glad you were able to fix that quickly

Sucks it happened in the first place, seems like a terrible place to run a major looking harness

Yeah, for sure. I'm going to work on rerouting the harness today, not sure how that will turn out just yet. Solder and heat shrink seem to be the order of the day.

Proof that I ruined my truck and it's no longer useful... 🙄

Yeah, I'm really loving the color. It wasn't my first choice but I like it more every day.

It was for more orange than I expected, I thought it would be more wine colored. The way it changes in various lighting is really cool.

It’s the best color by far
